"Has he been bringing up divorce since you married him?"
"He brings up divorce every time his daughter shows a dislike for me. I'm used to it; you don't have to concern yourself with it."

"But you mentioned some other woman. Who is this woman? Why did you ask him to bring her to the house? What is going on?" I questioned.
"You have forgotten the rule, haven't you? I don't owe you answers today. Just tell me why you're here."
I exhaled. "You're right. I didn't come here for that. I came for a different reason."
"Why are you here?" She asked again.
"Giovanni. I met a man by that name. Do you know him?" I asked.
"Giovanni?" Her face twisted with a frown.
"Yes, he is your past lover, isn't he?" I interrogated.
She scoffed and repeated the name, "Giovanni."
"Mom, answer my question: is Giovanni your ex?"
"No," she answered, shaking her head. "But I know who he is. I also know how dangerous he can be. Where did you meet him?"
