I kicked the door open and walked into the room to find my mother on a call; her eyes widened when she saw me.
I marched up to her. "We need to talk," I groaned, facing her.
"Speak to you later," she whispered into the phone and hung up. Her expression turned cold.
"What is the meaning of this? Why did you barge into my matrimonial bedroom like a rogue beast?"
"I was with Beta Benjamin a few minutes ago, and guess what?" I snapped.
"What did he tell you to make you act this bold?" She scoffed and moved over to the two-seater.
I went after her and stood before her. "So you made a deal to place Madison's safety over mine, right? Even if a fire breaks out, you'll save her and leave me to burn to death, is that right?"
She rolled her eyes. "Are you acting this way just because of that?"
I scoffed. "Just? How can a mother not care about her daughter? You made that deal when I was seven, Mom. Seven years old."
