The battlefield trembled as the last echo of the explosion faded. The dust cleared, and both warriors—Zayne and Koragg—stood tall amid the smoking crater that was once a part of Briarwood's outskirts. The rangers and Udonna watched from afar, still under the protection of the Innocence field Zayne had cast earlier. The air around them shimmered faintly, bending the natural laws to shield everything inside from the catastrophic destruction that was about to unfold.
Koragg's crimson visor glowed faintly as he fixed his gaze upon the towering mechanical beast that loomed before him. His deep, rumbling voice broke the silence.
"…It's as strong as Catastros." His gauntleted hand clenched tightly around his sword. "Damn it… who exactly is this unknown human disrupting my plans?"
The shadow knight's aura surged violently. Black runes flared across the ground beneath him as his crimson cape flapped wildly in the energy storm. His deep voice echoed with ancient power—
"Sumbol Unithos Equestras!"
A dark domain burst forth from the ground, swallowing the area in a dome of violet mist. The clouds above swirled violently as lightning cracked through the darkness. Within that storm, Catastros, the infernal horse of legend, roared into existence. Its molten eyes burned as Koragg leapt into the air, his body fusing with the beast through a ritual rune of pure abyssal energy.
The combination was nothing short of terrifying—a massive armored Minotaur-like creature, bearing four horse legs, a demonic wolf helm, and a massive crimson sword and shield pulsating with cursed energy.
Zayne tilted his head slightly inside his zord, his voice calm yet faintly amused."Really going all out already, huh…"
Then, time froze. The world dimmed as Zayne's consciousness was pulled inward, deeper into the Grid Domain.
The infinite blue expanse of the domain shimmered with threads of energy connecting to every zord, ranger, and power source in existence. Standing amidst the glowing streams of cosmic power, Zayne raised his right hand. The Megalodon Zord Core floated before him, its disc glinting with primal oceanic might.
He pressed his hand to it and muttered lowly,"Let's give him a proper show."
A red vortex swirled around him as he vanished, reappearing inside the cockpit of his Megalodon Zord. The zord's systems flared to life, holographic runes aligning as he inserted the Zord Disc into its control slot.
The shark-like mech roared, its eyes glowing a piercing azure as its armor shifted, plates sliding and locking into new positions. The fins extended into blades, the chest expanded, and the entire body grew in stature.
"Megalodon Megazord—online."
The battlefield quaked once again as the two titans faced each other.
For a brief, deafening moment, silence.
Then—
BOOM!
The ground split open as both zords charged. Koragg's monstrous form thundered forward on four legs, crimson sword raised high, shield gleaming with runic light. Zayne's Megazord leaned forward, thrusters igniting on its back as it dashed to meet him, the Shark Scythe spinning in its hand.
The first impact shook the world.
CRASH! CLANG! BOOOOM!
The shockwave rolled across the horizon, but the Innocence Field held steady. The air rippled violently inside the dome as their colossal weapons locked together, sparks exploding with every clash.
Koragg snarled, pushing forward with brutal strength, the magic in his blade humming darkly. "Fall before me, human!"
Zayne's eyes narrowed behind his visor. His voice came sharp and firm. "Not a chance."
The Megazord twisted its body, breaking the clash, and spun the scythe in a wide arc. "Shark Slash!"
A crescent of condensed energy shot forth, cleaving through the air toward Koragg.
Koragg raised his shield and roared, "Counter Attack!"
A crimson barrier expanded outward, reflecting the slash and sending it back in a violent burst of kinetic energy. The returning wave struck the Megazord square in the chest, sending it skidding backward several meters.
Inside the cockpit, Zayne's grip tightened. The warning systems beeped as minor damage readings flickered.
"Tch—stupid hexes." He muttered, tapping his control panel. "Alright, enough playing around."
A shimmering barrier enveloped the Megazord, runes glowing along its body. Zayne pushed forward, engaging his next sequence of attacks.
The Megazord lunged again, its movements precise and deadly. It swung its scythe downward in a flurry of cuts—each blow producing shockwaves that tore through the ground like tidal waves.
Koragg countered with brute strength, blocking and parrying, but his rhythm faltered. Inside his mind, he could feel his magic flow waver. Each "Counter Magic" spell carried a heavy cooldown, and now he was on the defensive.
Zayne noticed. "Found your weakness." His tone turned cold.
The Megazord shifted stances—blades separating into twin scythes. A rapid combo ensued, each strike faster than the last.
BAM! CLANG! SHHHH! BOOOOM!
Koragg's zord form staggered, armor cracking under the unrelenting assault. Bright red light began to leak from the cracks.
But then—Udonna's eyes widened from her distant vantage point. "That's… impossible."
Nick and the other rangers turned to her. "What's wrong?"
Udonna's voice trembled. "Abyssal monsters… don't have red blood."
Her gaze lingered on the streaming crimson lines dripping from the cracks in Koragg's armor. "Then that means…"
She couldn't finish her sentence. She was not sure. She had to wait for the end of the battle to figure out what exactly was happening
Back in the battle, Zayne raised the Megazord's arm, energy gathering in the zord's eye lens."Let's finish this part."
A sharp, blinding beam shot out, slicing through the air like a spear of light.
"Eye Beam—Fire!"
The blast struck Koragg's zord square in the chest, detonating on impact. A massive explosion followed, the shockwave visible from miles away. Koragg's monstrous form tumbled backward, crashing through a nearby hill.
When the smoke cleared, his breathing was heavy, labored.
He stared at the towering Megazord with fury burning in his eyes. "Damn… you."
His sword trembled in his grasp. "I can't… use Catastros' final form yet… my magic's still sealed…"
His mind screamed for him to continue, but even he knew when defeat was inevitable. Escaping would wound his pride, yet dying now would ruin everything.
He clenched his jaw, rage burning behind his visor.
But before he could retreat, Zayne's voice echoed through the comms, cold and commanding. "Running away already?"
The Megazord raised its arm, its palm glowing with concentrated white energy. The air itself distorted as a sphere of blinding light formed in its hand.
"Let's see you block this."
Zayne's voice dropped an octave, filled with ruthless intent. "Great White Beam!"
A colossal white beam surged forward like the wrath of the ocean itself, consuming everything in its path. It hit Koragg dead-on, detonating in a blinding explosion that tore through the dark domain.
BOOOOOOOM!
When the light faded, Koragg's zord form was gone—completely dispersed. His body fell from the sky, reverting to his normal armored form as he crashed to the ground with a thunderous impact.
Zayne leaned back in his seat, breathing slowly and controlled. His eyes, however, were sharp. "Gotcha."
He stood up slightly in his cockpit, scanning the field through his zord's sensors.
"Better cure him now," he muttered to himself. "A strong ally later is better than a dead enemy."
But before he could act, a flicker of movement appeared beside Koragg's fallen form. A blur of dark purple wings and a figure cloaked in shadow appeared.
Zayne's expression hardened immediately. "Oh, you've got to be kidding me."
The figure raised a glowing hand, forming a teleportation sigil beneath her and Koragg.
"Not today," Zayne said, activating his targeting lens.
But the teleportation spell was already complete. In an instant, both vanished into the ether.
Zayne slammed his fist lightly against the control panel. "Damn it."
He summoned his Zord Lens, scanning the residual energy from the teleportation spell. The lens flared briefly, replaying a blurred image of the figure.
His jaw tightened. "Necrolai."
The name left his lips like venom.
The shark-like Megazord stood still as the smoke settled. The Innocence field slowly dissipated, revealing the untouched city and rangers below.
Udonna's eyes were fixed on the horizon where the battle had ended, her thoughts heavy. The rangers, still awe-struck, could barely comprehend the scale of the fight that had just taken place.
Above them, Zayne's Megazord shimmered, energy lines dimming as the cockpit lights cooled.
He crossed his arms, staring in the direction Necrolai had fled. His tone was low, calm, but underlined by something else—resolve.
"You can run for now…" he muttered quietly. "But you won't hide for long."
