Chapter 6 - Escape

She looks forwards to see the ten guards now standing in front of her.

However, like she thought, the most they could fit vertically is two people.

So, unless there is a magic user in here for some reason, she is able to work with her situation.

She dashes forwards and gets a good look at the guards and is able to see multiple weaknesses in their stances even though she would've never noticed them before.

She shouldn't be nearly good enough of a swordswoman to notice.

It seems her stats are already taking effect.

So, she strikes at those weaknesses, knowing those aren't purposeful.

Why would a person that good be here in this bandit camp?

She notices the swords now targeting the weaknesses and proceeds to break through the first two.

They impale themselves deep into their enemies sides which makes them quickly drop, screaming in pain having not been hit in a vital enough area to kill them instantly.

She steps over the two as the swords pull themselves out and throws a punch at a guard who attempts to block with his sword.

To both her and the guards surprise, his sword is brittle enough to where the sword snaps in half.

Because of that, her punch sailed through the sword and slammed into the guard, sending him into some of those behind him, the punched guard out cold.

The guard right next to him, one of the few not knocked back, attempted to attack but was blocked by one of her swords.

The other sword then went for the guard behind the one that attacked.

Sadly for him, he was still in shock at how forceful Nikkes punch was, so the sword easily stabbed into his neck and slicing, decapitating him instantly

Nikke runs up to the knocked down guards and stomps the incapacitated ones face, caving it in.

The guard currently in combat with a sword, being the novice he is, notices Nikke run behind him, so he thinks of her as being more danger.

This makes him loose focus of the sword and turn towards Nikke, only to be stabbed by the sword he was fighting.

She quickly called one of her swords into her hand and starts to stab those that are down, leaving only two left, them not having fallen due to the distance they have compared to the others.

Noticing the distance, she throws her sword at them while the other joins soon after, having to dislodge itself from the body.

After having seen her take down their other allys, they were heavily shaking, especially since all they had were daggers,

Because of that, even though they wanted to defend themselves, thanks to the speed the swords were flying, they couldn't defend themselves and were quickly killed.

And then, an unnatural silence takes over the area, in wait of the other bandits.

Using this small time, she sits down to catch a breath.

'This would normally be too much for me. These stats are way too good.

She looks at her stats and notices she went up by two levels during the fight.

'Well, that's helpful. As I thought, this will help me get stronger.'

Now was the next decision.

Another sword or more sharpness?

She decided to go with another sword.

She has more than enough into intelligence to where she can confidently say she can control three swords.

She also puts all her extra points into strength.

For a fight like this, she will need all hands on deck to be able to distract, cause imbalance, and kill.

She then stood up and looked at herself and grimaced.

She had too much blood on her.

'Damn, if not for the adrenaline, I would have a hard time with this smell.'

She then stands up and hugs a corner as she heard lots of rushing footsteps resound that are all heading her way.

The steps quickly get closer and closer until the first few reach the corner of the hallway of her cell.

To reward them for getting here so quickly, she sends her swords shooting around the corner, impaling the two at the front.

This causes the ones behind them to pause, stopping the entire group of bandits.

Just as surprisingly to them, Nike bounds around the corner and slams her fist into the closest person, her not having anything to slow her fist this time kills the person and much more violently sends the body backwards.

Those behind the now dead bandit get caught in the bodies flight.

Now that she can get a good look, she almost stumbled at the amount of bodies in front of her.

From a quick scan, she saw what seemed to be at least one hundred people.

However, if all of them are as weak as the others, this may be possible.

Then, a voice resounds from far in the back.

"EVERYONE, KILL HER!"

And they all give a war cry at those words.

Getting out of her thoughts, she knew she needed three more kills.

'I have 17 souls, I need three more for my sword upgrade.'

The bandit next to the one she punched swung at her, but she ducked it, grabbed his arm, and made him stab one of the men behind him.

One of her swords then launches itself into the head of the grabbed bandit, killing him.

She punches the next bandit and this time his body is so frail her fist goes straight through him.

The man gives a surprised grunt, not realizing the pain, and looks down at her fist in his chest.

Before he realized the pain, she improvised and rushed into the army, using the body as a shield, and buys a new sword with the final soul gained.

From out of nowhere, a third sword materializes and quickly stabs itself into a nearby bandit, a scream of pain followed.

Nikke rushes into the crowd and starts slamming into bandits, using the body on her hand like a shield, knocking ten off balance, letting the swords swoop in and kill them.

She quickly shakes off the torso from her arm and dodges two swords slicing down onto her.

In retaliation, she out speeds the bandits, grabs their heads, and smashes them together, leaving a gory mess.

Her swords, now done killing those that fell, zoomed towards the two currently alive bandits in front of her, one of them quickly arching over the next few rows and starts to attack those in the backline that are unprepared for its advance.

When the other two swords catch up, she grabs one and the bandits that can be seen are visibly shaking.

She could only imagine what she must look like to them

This view of her, mixed with how easily she mowed down their allies, terrified them.

The good thing about their fear is that it makes things much easier than it would have been

She notices this and smirks.

She dashes at the two in front of her, swings her sword at one who instinctively had their sword up, and easily knocks the sword out of the right ones hands.

He is about to let out some sort of noise, but is quickly silenced by Nikke.

Her flying sword next to her dashes at the other person, catching them off guard and easily killing them.

Nikke checks on the sword she sent to the back and notices that the bandits are being thinned quickly, and she also notices that her swords have changed.

Of course, she can't look at them right now, but she will when she can.

She casts a quick glance at her soul count too and notices she has already gained 40 more souls, mostly thanks to the sword that's on its own.

So, she buys another.

A fourth sword appears in the air.

The already scared bandits up front decide to accept their fate and drop their swords.

These guys are bandits, not knights.

They have no where near the same will power nor do they want to die for their cause.

The moment the fourth sword appeared, they broke because they knew there was no chance of survival, and instead of struggling till the end, they chose the path of least resistance, and maybe hope for a chance at mercy.

With that, she passes the six bandits, who are begging for their lives, as the two floating swords kill the six that gave up, and she meets back up with the sword she let loose.

Looking at the horde of humans, it seems that around half had died at this point.

Thankfully her stat points are extremely useful since she isn't even breathing too heavily yet.

She can easily continue.

She dashes forwards, and releases the gripped sword, letting it fly as she casually smashes her fist into a mans head, caving it in.

She gives a surprised glance to her fists, but quickly decides to be surprised about it when she is safe.

Three swords this time fly a bit further back, leaving one sword and Nikke to deal with the very front.

The swords left nine bandits as the frontal force for the latter to deal with.

Nikke grabs the guy next to her and kicks the man as her sword flies forward.

However, she put a bit too much strength into the kick and accidentally puts her foot through the mans stomach.

"Shit," she mumbles.

Deciding to do a quick measure of her strength, she tries to rip the body off her foot and successfully halves it.

She gives another surprised glance, but seeing as she had already destroyed the spine with her foot, there was little bone that would allow nearly as much resistance.

She brings her attention back to her surroundings and two more have been cut down, and the rest are frozen in fear, even with the sword actively attacking them.

Deciding to get used to her strength now, she chooses to use her full force and goes for a punch.

The unlucky bandit watched as her fist shot at his face, and those around him saw his head disappear in a spray of gore.

At this point, the bandits at the back started to run.

To stop them, one of the two swords that advanced flew to the back and started to attack from there.

She let the remaining sword fly past and then blitzed through the remaining bandits facing her, slowly getting used to her new strength.

Once she killed the ninth guy that was left behind, the three swords had killed twenty of the remaining bandits.

Noting that, she quickly increases her swords sharpness to level six, leaving her with two souls and rushes forwards.

At this point, the bandits are screaming for their lives.

Cries for forgiveness and help resound out, but nothing comes.

Only the demon that promises their death.

As she reaches one of the remaining bandits, she sees something that makes her smile.

Initially, the space was so small that the swords couldn't slash at enemies as the stone walls prevented it/

However, with this last upgrade, it seems they are now able too.

She grabs a sword and slices two men's heads clean from their bodies, leaving marks in the stone.

She runs to the next two who are now trying to climb over the other bandits to have even a chance to live, but ends up slashing their legs, and bisecting the two they were climbing over.

She kills the two legless bandits and looks up to see...

nothing.

The wave of enemies is over.

However, before she has time to rest, she hears footsteps approaching.

A single person, maybe the boss who is checking up on what's taking them so long.

Just in case, she put three of her swords under bodies to lie in wait and ambush him if needed, but even better, the swords turned into what looks like normal swords and simply fell onto the ground.

Before she could comment on anything, the footsteps were at the corner.

So, she held a sword, still as purple as ever, and attacked.

Unexpectedly he was able to dodge.

He was about to say something to her but saw the state the hallway was in.

He was a knight trainee, and as such, he has seen death.

A lot of death.

Until now, never had it all been people he knew, and never had it been one person who did it.

However, what was standing in front of him couldn't be described as a person.

A demon wearing the rags of a prisoner and the skin of a woman.

Nothing on her body wasn't covered in blood.

Hair, arms, legs, body, everything.

And all of it is fresh, dripping constantly, adding to her current image.

Her unnaturally glowing purple sword was also covered in tiny spots of blood, unexpectedly clean for the carnage in front of him.

Sadly for him, she didn't give him time to watch, as she sent one of her waiting swords at him.

Since he wasn't expecting it, and he isn't nearly as strong as a normal knight, it successfully stabs him, and is able to twist and cleave him in two.

Finally, she is able to breath.

But, she can't rest.

She needs to find a way out.

Thankfully the walkways are lit up by torches, and she wanders aimlessly through the halls.

Eventually, she saw the light of the outside and walked towards it.

When she got outside, she didn't expect what awaited her.

Soldiers fitted in white and yellow armor lined in front of the entrance with a man in black, priestly robes in the center of the line.

His eyes look almost fanatically towards her.

"Ah.... To see the hero god has sent to us with my own eyes..."

He then stops talking for a second, and when Nikke was about to question, she magically fainted even though she wasn't at all tired.

And at that the priest gave a soft smile.

But then it stiffened and he gave an order to his paladins.

"Leave none alive. Those who dared attempt to harm her in her early stages do not deserve life."

At his words, the paladins entered, and he walked towards Nikke.

"Oh hero, enjoy your rest, as the judgement of the world now rests on your shoulders."

He then picks her up, puts her in a separate wagon for herself, and tells the drivers to head back to the church while he waits for the paladins to finish their job.
