Chapter 2 - World Building

When she woke up, she expected some sort of afterlife to appear before her.

However, what actually happened was that she was brought to a strange place.

It looked as though she had entered space and marveled at the sight before her.

After looking around, she saw a table with a tea set placed on it.

Sitting at the table was a woman wearing a black crop top and had some type of wings that were almost impossible to describe. It was as if she was registering their existence, but couldn't comprehend their form.

They didn't look like they were attached at all, and it looked like the wings were actually in pieces, barely being held together.

The woman looked at her and gave a soft smile.

"Since your a guest, I can't have you looking like that, can't I?" she says.

As she finishes her words, all of Nikes wounds are healed, and her missing arm grows back.

"Now, come sit down with me. I have something I want to discus with you."

Nike does as asked since the woman's voice had something about it that compelled her to do what was asked.

When she sits, the teapot floats over to her cup and pours her a drink.

"What type of magic is this?" Nike asks.

The woman just sighs.

"Even though this isn't magic, the fact that you don't even think it's telekinesis or any magic like it shows how stupid the humans of this world are." she mutters to herself, not really caring if Nike hears or not.

"Telekinesis? What's that?" Nike curiously asks.

"A form of magic that lets you move things at will is the explanation you will get from me about it. I don't want to get into the nerdy talk at this moment."

Nike nods in amazement at the thought of a magic like that.

"Anyway, on to what I wanted to talk to you about."

She then takes a sip of her drink and starts her explanation.

"Before I begin, two things. One, you do not have a choice in this. Two, all questions will be saved for after what I talk about unless you are asked to speak."

Nike then nods.

"First off, what is the belief of your god?"

Deciding not to question it, Nike explains, "He is a benevolent being who loves humans and calls them the superior race of the world. Of course, I was raised to not have much care for religion, so I don't know the exacts."

The woman's face grows annoyed at that explanation.

"Before I go on this rant, please, call me glitch." she says with obvious annoyance in her voice.

Nike nods and lets Glitch begin her talk.

"Well, the main thing wrong with that explanation is his, what sounds like, obsessive love for humans. It's actually quite the opposite. He despises them. At first they were fine. They lived in harmony with those now called Demi-Humans and monsters. But as their population grew, pride in their race grew as well. Slowly but surely, by pure numbers, they started isolating the beings different from them. For Demi-Humans, they couldn't entirely isolate and vilify them as they were part human, so they made them slaves. For monsters, because they weren't human, they did to them what they couldn't the Demi-Humans. A good example is goblins. They were really helpful to humans in the beginning, but humans started to attempt to eradicate them. Very quickly after, they had almost entirely exterminated the female goblin race. For revenge and keeping their race alive, they would raid villages, take human females and rape them. Humans brought all the monsters hatred towards themselves." She then takes a deep breath and looks at Nike. "Of course, this doesn't matter now. after having dealt with these issues for ages, the beings you call monsters are now entirely used to this way of life.

"Because of this, the god of this world is giving humans one last chance. In this world there are two continents. One he already has covered, but for this one, he decided to do something different. He decided to let a human judge their own race. So, he asked me for help. Me, being as generous as I am, accepted.

(A/N): Totally not writing about what happens in the other continent as well.

She then muttered to where Nike couldn't hear, "The only reason I am actually here in my main body and not as a clone is because of the author."

She then gets back to talking to Nike, "So, I gave him a time and place where a human that fit his criteria would be born. You were to be brought to me either when you were about to die or when you turned eighteen. It seems like the former is what happened. You were chosen by the god of this world to be the judge, jury, and executioner of the humans of this continent. You will be given an ability made by yours truly to help you. Of course, since you are so weak, you wont be able to be given it at full power. Nowhere near. You will have to... train... to make it strong. Now, any questions?"

When Glitch looked at Nike, she could see that she was trying her hardest to process all this information.

"So..." she finally began to say.

"What were the criteria the god had set?" She asked.

"Someone who can fit all three of those roles to the letter. You are supposed to be the last chance the humans on this continent get. He told me many exact things he wanted in a person like not getting drunk on power, not someone who would take bribes, and like a thousand other specifications. I was honestly surprised that there was any human at all that could be born naturally and fit his criteria."

"How many of the things I was taught by my father about history was changed by humans?"

"Most of it. The only parts not changed were the stories about the demon lords because of gods intervention since they were made by him as one of the many chances for humanity; but after they kill the demon lord, they instantly go back to warring with each other."

"Why did you watch as my village was destroyed and not step in to save it?"

That makes Glitch pause for a second, thinking of how to nicely answer it.

"Honestly, I don't know how to answer this without making it sound arrogant... The only way to answer this would be because your world is way to weak for me to even care. I have the ability, and have used it, to wipe out entire galaxies and more. It is a bit hard to explain advanced concepts like the omniverse to societies as little advanced as yours, but to me, you aren't even as big as an ant in power. No, you are smaller, even at full power with the ability you would be given. I could snap and this world would be erased and any being who knew of it would forget about it. You are the only being I care about here. No one else. I honestly would gladly erase this world, but I can't since I wasn't asked to."

"Anyway, questions are over! I will now send you to an area to learn about your powers!

Before Nike could say anything else, she was forced into what looked to be a crack in the space itself.

Glitch the looks over to a floating screen in the air that shows a white screen with words being quickly added onto it.

"You know, this power really reminds me of one specific noble phantasm from the fate verse."

(A/N): ... You know what? That's true. The more I think about it, the more it sounds like GoB and where Gil uses the weapons to fight like Emiya as well. If he did that in the anime, then it would probably seem like I am copying it...

"Yet you probably don't care?"

(A/N): Yup, you know me so well!

She just gave him an unamused face and sighed.

"When are you gonna post stories that I am used in?"

(A/N): As soon as I finish next chapter, this story will be posted. I will actually work on this since I have the want to write this.

"Probably wont last long though."

(A/N): Maybe.
