Chapter 46 - CHAPTER 46: The Dream and the Promise

That night, while Fang was asleep, a terrifying dream gripped her.

She stood frozen, helpless, as Lucian and Syaoran clashed swords before her. Their powers collided like thunder, shaking the skies. Then—Lucian's blade pierced Syaoran's chest.

"No!" Fang screamed, her voice cracking with despair. Her body trembled. She tried to move, to save him—but she couldn't. Her limbs refused to obey. All she could do was watch as Syaoran collapsed, lifeless.

Fang's mind spiraled.

Visions flashed.

Memories surged.

Lunarya's past returned like lightning.

The weather around her changed. Thunder cracked through the sky. The air grew heavy with power. Inside her room, the door burst open with a violent gust. Moonlight poured in through the window, falling directly on Fang's floating body.

Her eyes remained shut, but she was no longer resting.

Her body lifted into the air, trembling violently.

A violet stone emerged from her chest, glowing brightly as it absorbed the moon's energy. The power pulsed through her like a storm.

Elsewhere in the palace, Syaoran jolted awake.

The room crystal—linked to Fang's heart—was blinking erratically.

His instincts roared.

Something's wrong.

Without a second thought, he sprinted to her room. The door was wide open.

And then he saw her—floating.

Her body hovered above the bed, surrounded by flickers of light and wind. The stone from her chest shimmered like a second moon.

"Fang!" Syaoran rushed forward, using his powers to bring her down, but the energy surrounding her clashed violently with his own.

The force blasted him backward—slamming him into the wall.

Gasping, he pulled himself up just as the stone, now fully charged, returned to her chest. She fell from the air—but he caught her just in time.

He placed her gently on the bed.

But her body didn't stop trembling. She murmured in her sleep, words broken and breathless. Syaoran leaned closer.

"Kaelvar…" she whispered.

Syaoran's eyes widened in alarm. His heart dropped.

Kaelvar…

Moments later, Fang gasped and woke up, clutching the sheets. She turned her head and saw Syaoran beside her.

Tears instantly filled her eyes.

She threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly.

"Syaoran~~!" she cried, her voice raw with emotion.

Syaoran held her close, his own eyes burning with helplessness. He patted her back gently, whispering, "It's okay… I'm here."

Fang leaned back, swallowing hard. Her hands trembled.

Syaoran looked at her, worried.

"Fang… why were you floating in the air? What happened?"

Fang turned her gaze away, hesitant.

"I… I don't know. I saw a dream. A goddess… I don't remember it clearly."

Syaoran sat beside her, his voice calm.

"Fang… who was that goddess?"

Fang lowered her head.

"Syaoran, I can only tell you this… I am a goddess. But I can't say more. I hope you understand."

He reached out and pulled her gently into his arms, resting her head on his shoulder.

"I already know, Fang."

Fang looked up at him in shock.

"You knew? Then… why didn't you tell me?"

Syaoran sighed.

"I found out earlier. But I didn't want to force your memories. I was afraid… if you remembered everything, you'd suffer. I just wanted to protect you."

She blinked back tears and smiled faintly.

"You don't have to apologize, Syaoran. You did it for me. Even I hid the truth from you."

He turned and gently held her by the shoulders.

"Fang, whatever we face—no matter how dangerous—we'll face it together. I won't leave you."

Her tears finally fell, but she smiled through them.

"Hmm… I won't leave you either. I'll fight with everything I have. And I'll protect you."

Syaoran gave a soft laugh.

Then, after a pause, he looked at her seriously.

"Fang… I wasn't going to ask this now. It's probably not the right time… but will you hear me out?"

She sat up, curious.

"What is it, Syaoran?"

He reached for her hand.

"After the world finds peace… will you marry me? Will we live a quiet, happy life together?"

Fang blinked, stunned for a moment—then she smiled brightly and nodded.

"Syaoran, I promise. Once the world is safe… I'll marry you."

She gave him a playful thumbs-up through her tears.

Syaoran chuckled, his heart full.

In that moment—amidst uncertainty, fear, and war—a promise bloomed.
