Josh had burned his clothes off in the fight. He had to quickly find something to cover himself with. There just so happened to be a sheet right insidethe building. After he covered himself he then went back and stood looking at the aftermath of the fight.
There was a spiderweb crack in the building reaching about three meters across."we will have to fix that Josh thought to himself."and make sure there's no structural damage" as Josh was thinking to himself one of the bright light underlink started to move "what? I thought I took them all out. I guess one survived. good I have questions"
Before Josh could do anything Joe came running out from the back with James following behind him. "No way. so how did you do that" Joe asked curiously and Josh replied" we'll talk about it later. right now one of them is still alive. We need to bind him up. lock him in one of those reinforced dog kennels" Joe immediately understood and orderd James to get help and take their new prisoner to the kennel.
After that was taken care of Joe yelled for Tom. Upon arriving Joe said"Tom take care of those bodies before they stink up the area or draw attention"
"but that's Josh's job why would I do that". He replied
Getting angry Joe shouted" because while you were hiding like a baby Josh took care of the theat. Now get to it". Like a dog with his tail between his legs Tom did as he was told.
"That feels good" Josh spoke with a slight snicker
"I bet it does" Joe replied. After a brief silence Joe said" thank you so much Josh. We were out of power along with our new members. If not for you it would be over for all of us. so tell me where did this power come from? what power is it?" with a smile on his face Josh said"not here. To many prying ears" they quickly went into the building.
As they were heading to the office. Josh took note that the damage had spread through to the inside too. on the wall that was hit with his body"what a shame he thought" once in the office Joe went into a cupboard and pulled out a full set of clothes"I got these for you since yours were getting ready. I was going to wait to give them to you until you said you needed a new outfit. but it just so happens you need a new outfit"
After Handing Josh the clothes josh thanked Joe. "You really are the best boss ever" Joe let out a little laugh" well I wouldn't say that. so what's going on Josh? tell me I'm dying to know" Josh hesitated but then spoke"when Tom had punched me in the face his fist made contact with my face. my power that I guess was dormant activated. It turns out I have the power to copy other powers by touching somebody. It is some sort of purple absorbing electricity. I don't know everything it can do yet but I'm slowely understanding more and more."
He continued"I can also combine my powers to make one of the powers even stronger. and towards the end of my fight I started to realize I could even wield two Powers at once. however I could not make them as strong because I would have to split the power into two. I have the abilities of everybody here that has a power I also have the level five light energy power. However I feel something in the light power like some sort of sub ability. I need to experiment more"
Joe was speechless he couldn't believe it. But how could he not. Josh had defeated a group that he and three others could not. So it had to be true. In his mind he was thinking how amazing Josh was. He knew Josh had always been special though. Josh was always harder working than everybody else. He deserves this in Joe's eyes. after a long pause he spoke "I'm so happy for you if anybody deserves this it's you. What do you plan on doing now that you have this great power?"
Josh replied "well Joe I think I need to leave for a while to gather strength by finding more powers and leveling up the ones I already have. I need to be strong enough. I've been formulating a plan but it's still in its infancy. After I gather strength I want to get my daughter and those who she cares about. I want to bring them back and with you by my side I want to create our own village or Kingdom. One where you will be the king and I will be the protector. But to reach that point I need to be stronger. However before I leave it may take a while but I want to use my new earth power to create a wall around this area. We can use ron the Earth user so he can create a door anytime you need to leave. We also need weapons I know of a place that had antique swords and other medieval weapons. Maybe we can place power into them somehow and make them stronger. We also have the weapons and gear from those religious nuts. That reminds me we also have a prisoner we need to talk to"
Joe replied" well you know what that sounds like a great idea. however I'm scared with you leaving but I know you need to do this. Let's go talk to this guy and we can figure out the rest later" "agreed"
As they left the office they saw Tom standing in the room outside the office staring at them. "Oh Tom did you take care of that" Joe said and Tom replied" yes I did however I will never do it again. He is not more important than me no matter what he does. I've been your speed guy for a month. It's him or me. no exceptions"
Joe stared at him for a moment and then said" well I'm sorry you feel that way Tom but even if Josh did not have powers now I still would pick him. He's been with me for years you're the new guy in town you can see yourself out"
Tom was outraged how could this be his life. He was supposed to be great. Activating his power something new happened his power started to pulsate. he moved faster than he had before but it didn't matter. Before he could make it to Joe. Joe had pulled his ax off his back and used the side of it to smack Tom away right out the window. This didn't knock him out only hurt him but he knew he couldn't win and left "I'll ruin you for this" he said under his breath. He quickly sped away.
Watching him run away from the window Josh spoke" I'm not fixing that window I already have to fix the cracks in the wall in the main Warehouse" Joe laughed hysterically "I broke it I'll buy it" he then continued laughing and Josh joined him . After laughing for a while Joe went to get boards to cover the window and Josh went and got a wheelbarrow of dirt from the yard.
Walking up to the broken wall. Josh just started shoving dirt and little stones into the wall using his power to make it stay. After it was all covered he put all of his power into the Earth's ability. Then put his hands on the wall and started to feel the Earth. After concentrating his experiment worked the Earth had fused with the wall making it complete. "Well isn't that interesting"he thought"I can't wait to see what else I can do"
After fixing the wall he started using his fully amped earth power to create a wall around the settlement. he was able to get one fourth covered before running out of power. He was exhausted stumbling back towards the building. he saw Joe standing next to a tree smiling
" you are amazing now just do that four more times then we'll be all set" Josh laughed at Joe's remark and then said"yeah I just need to regain my energy. I don't know how long it'll take for everything to fill back up. I just need to rest for a bit"he then leaned up against a tree and slid to his butt and he sat there leaning against the tree. "You rest my friend you did great"Joe said as he walked away "I'm going to check on our prisoner"
After Joe was gone Josh started to focus on his power. He tried to draw in power from the outside. To his surprise it was working slightly faster than it refilled on its own.but then he noticed something. Energy was coming faster from behind him like it was coming from the tree.
He stumbled to his feet turning around he put his hands on the tree. Closing his eyes again he started to focus and energy started to enter his core from the tree. and all of a sudden his main power activated and purple Sparks started to attach between Josh and the tree. It was pulling energy out at a incredible rate. then when Josh opened his eyes. To his dismay the tree was starting to crumble and then fell apart he had drained all of its essence.
He felt sick to his stomach he just took its life. it did nothing to him even offered him a place to rest his head. This is how he repaid it. However he noticed his power had filled completely. It was overflowing and all of his abilities had risen by one level. Except his main power which had risen by two levels."this just gets more and more interesting by the day."
It was apparent to Josh that he could now steal Life energy to fuel and empower himself. This was actually quite scary he could not let himself go over the edge who knows what would happen. "Power is not everything"
After thinking a little longer he went and continued the Earth wall. but this time he had completed half bringing it to three quarters done." one more time" he thought. He sat in a open field careful to stay away from any trees. He then began to focus to start drawing in power. He then tried activating his ability to draw it in faster. It worked power was coming in three times as fast. He was scared to activate more of his power in case it started drawing more in than just regular energy. He did not need to gain power from Life energy. at least not at this point.
It took him about an hour to refill his power to the max. it was getting dark at this point he knew he needed to finish soon. he quickly went to where he left off. But before he could start raising the wall. He saw a girl standing across about 30 meters away.
She was just staring at him. Josh in the friendliest tone he could he shouted"are you okay" she continued to stare and Josh spoke again "I am not a threat. are you?"
She then spoke "I am not a threat" she then walked up to Josh stopping a few meters away and continue speaking."my name is Cynthia my family was recently taken from this world by a bunch of religious nuts in white robes. Now I'm on my own. Honestly I don't want to continue any longer but I have to live. because my mother made me promise to keep living."
After wiping her tears away she continued. "I have the power to control water. I believe I am at the third level I do not know how to tell though. I seen you defeat the same ones that took my family earlier. As repayment I offer you me to do with as you would like. can I join your community?"
Josh began to smile it was a slightly creepy smile and Cynthia stepped back. Josh quickly raised his hands up and said"sorry. I am so sorry for your loss. I am just fascinated that you have the water power I'm Josh I am quite strong. If you seen my fight you know that. you are welcome to stay and you do not own me anything" Josh then yelled for at the top of his lungs.
After a moment Joe came over and Josh explained the situation. Joe then began to lead Cynthia back to show her to were she will be sleeping. Before she could walk away though. Josh stepped in front of her and put his hand out and said it's nice to meet you. after shaking his hand and saying"thank you so much "she then walked away.
Josh saw Joe trying to hide his smile knowing what just happened. And just like that Josh also had the water ability at level three. Smiling Josh went back over to the wall and quickly finished it. Witch only took one third of his power to do so. however he did not want to interrogate the prisoner without his full power. so he went back to the field.
Activating his power he started to absorb energy. While doing so all of the sudden his eyes shot open. He noticed he could see the energy in the air. The Life energy in the trees. and faint glow from were the people were. he could see their energy too. He did not understand what was happening he could just feel the energy built up in his eyes.
If he could see himself he would see that his eyes were glowing purple!
