Queenie's face turned sour when she heard that Grady had called Rachel back.
"Why bring that wild child home? Haven't we done enough for her? Her own parents don't even care, yet you treat her better than your own daughter," she complained.
"Lower your voice. Rachel finally came back, can't you be quiet for once?" Grady scolded.
"And who exactly is your real daughter? Nora can't even land a decent job, but all you think about is that wild child. Have you completely lost your mind?" Queenie snapped, her tone sharp.
She was beyond fed up. Every time Rachel's name came up, Grady would immediately side with her.
"Look at how you spoil her. She works a few days and then quits, saying it's either too tiring or not suitable. If she keeps that up, no company will ever want her," Grady said, throwing down his newspaper in frustration.
