There was a lump of black scales on her lap, and she almost jumped back in fright.
"You have awakened, little fox?" The whale sensed her movement and asked.
She took a deep breath. Luckily, she didn't throw the thing on her lap away. Otherwise, if it drowned, who would she cry to?
Once she was a bit calmer, she asked the whale. "How long have I been out?"
The whale let out a hum, as if it was thinking. Zerra braced herself.
"Two months or maybe three?" It asked with an unsure tone. After all, it was a whale and didn't have much sense of time like humans.
She let out a sigh of relief. It wasn't that long. However… she couldn't completely trust the whale when it came to time. Animals didn't place much importance on such a thing, but for a rough estimate, it still made sense.
"Thank you," she muttered, filled with gratitude. The whale had to let the surface of its body stay above the water for such a long time. "It must have been hard on you."
