Zerra immediately realized their awkward position and jumped away from Cassias.
"This isn't like what you think, elder–" she stopped herself.
Because the man had already zipped the tent back up, and with embarrassment clear on his face, he jumped away as if his hand was scalded.
She hurriedly went to the entrance and chased after him. With a soft face yet fierce voice, she called out as she grabbed him. "Elder brother?"
Laziel cleared his throat. "I will pretend I didn't see anything." His hand reached and made a mess of her hair. "Don't worry, I won't tell our parents."
With a frustrated sigh, she nudged him on his stomach. "You misunderstood me."
"Yes, it's a misunderstanding…" he echoed her words, and somehow they sounded insincere.
She glared at him, and eventually just sighed. Putting the falling strands of hair behind her ears, she switched the topic. "Now, tell me what happened?"
