"Someone might be hiding in a suspicious place, like a cupboard or something." The man's voice was filled with hesitation.
"Mr. Brown isn't here tonight, so…" the man's next words were caught in his throat. The faint flickering light didn't manage to capture the quick movement.
One moment, the person was still staring at the cupboard alertly, and the next moment as he opened the cupboard, his head fell to the floor.
He never finished his words.
"You–" The other man stared at Zerra in terror.
Who told them to be so noisy, huh? Perhaps it was some kind of mechanism to get rid of overthinking, so that they wouldn't feel fearful and suspicious of anything around them. Sometimes when it was too quiet, some people would make noise just to get rid of their unsettled feelings.
Alas, it wasn't just their overthinking. Zerra was a real person, the killer who was waiting for them.
