Upon arrival at the banquet, Davion got out of his car and helped Claudia to get out of her car as well while extending his hand.
Claudia accepted the hand and she wrapped her hand around Davion's arm as they walked into the banquet hall.
It turned out that there were already many people who came to the big meal. They were influential people, businessmen and also those who had just started a business to find partners in the room.
Indirectly, although the event was a banquet, it was always used for meetings of people looking for their new business partners.
It was a place where they wore masks to look good in front of everyone and work together.
"Wow, this event looks really big and fancy," Claudia commented.
"Indeed, a banquet like this would usually be made to look luxurious and very expensive. Have you ever been to an event like this before?" asked Davion.
She shook her head. Claudia admitted that she had never been to such a place and I just that even Yohan himself had never asked her to go to the luxurious event that was held and invited her lover.
At first Davion was hesitant when entering the place because he came together with his own son's lover.
But when he heard how Claudia had commented on the place and how she had never gone there, Davion felt a little more relieved.
That meant no one would recognize Claudia as Yohan's lover. Even so, he still couldn't avoid someone asking about the beautiful and elegant woman who came with him.
They then took the wine brought by the waiter and enjoyed it while waiting for Mr. Bridget to come and open the banquet.
'This event is so big and luxurious. I wouldn't be surprised to meet Yohan here as I'm sure he must have come with Stephanie who is a wealthy family and must have been invited to this event,' Claudia thought.
Her blue eyes then glanced at Davion who was sipping the wine in his hand.
She admired the man, because he looked so wise and also certainly looked mature considering he was already a middle-aged man.
'Whereas Mr. Davion looks so calm and authoritative. I wonder why his ex-wife left him for another man when she has such a wonderful man like him,' she thought again in surprise.
"Aren't you embarrassed?" asked Davion suddenly.
"Pardon me?" Claudia turned her head in confusion.
Now he turned his head back and looked at Claudia with a serious and somewhat cold face.
"Don't you feel ashamed to be with an old man like me? I'm even twice your age," he asked once again.
"I'm old enough to be your father," Davion continued his sentence.
Hearing that, Claudia was silent for a moment before she finally faced him.
"Then..." she suddenly approached his face while standing on tiptoe to match their face level. "Can I call you Daddy?"
Davion was surprised at the sight before him let alone the mischievous smile on Claudia's face. Somehow, he felt his heart beating very fast and this was something he had never felt before since the last time his wife left him.
The woman pulled Davion's tie closer, bringing their faces even closer.
"Can I do it?"
The man's face flushed slightly, and he didn't understand why he could be so affected by the young woman who currently seemed to be flirting with him.
In his mind, he kept reminding himself that she was the lover of his own son, so that he would not get carried away by the atmosphere Claudia was creating at the moment.
He cleared his throat softly and loosened his tie slightly.
"It's not appropriate for you to say such things to me, Ms. Claudia. I am the father of your boyfriend. So you should keep your distance from me and not do things like this that feel disrespectful," he said trying to put some distance between them.
At first, Claudia thought that maybe she was too hasty or crossed the line too much.
She immediately withdrew for fear of making Davion feel uncomfortable.
'I shouldn't have gone too far, and maybe I'll try to appeal to his feelings. Maybe he'll try to get close to me himself,' the woman thought then smoothed her dress and helped straighten Davion's suit.
"I'm sorry, I was just joking earlier."
"Your joking can cause misunderstanding in the eyes of many people. Especially if they know that you have Yohan's girlfriend."
Of course Claudia knew about that, but she really wanted people to recognize her as the partner of Davion and not Yohan.
In the end she just chuckled, then they turned to the stage where Mr. Bridget had arrived.
"Good evening, honored guests. Tonight we will welcome the guest of honor, Mr. Rowant Bridget!"
After the host called the man on, Rowant Bridget climbed the stage and a man who looked the same age as Davion appeared in front of everyone.
They applauded as they welcomed him, especially since he was a very influential person in their country.
"Good evening everyone, my name is Rowant Bridget. Thank you for inviting me to this place tonight," he said in a friendly yet firm manner.
Claudia looked at the man, and remembered how in her previous life she had begged Rowant to help her with a project for Yohan's new company.
That man was not someone who was easy to work with and that was why Claudia had even prostrated herself before him to help him.
'In my previous life I stood in front of his house when it was raining heavily, even going so far as to prostrate myself before him to get him to help me. But when he finally agreed to help, Yohan repaid me with a betrayal that ended in my death,' she thought irritably, while squeezing the dress she was currently wearing.
The look in her eyes became sharp, as Claudia felt so angry when remembering all the things she had to do for Yohan but was betrayed in return.
Yohan who only used her and did not care about anything she had done for him.
However, this time she was determined to keep Rowant working together but with Davion's company.
She already knew how to get Rowant's attention, which was the condition for Rowant to accept Claudia's request.
