Chapter 21 - Magic Blowgun (III)

The Geddos copy walked through a winding corridor, lights were turning on above him as he walked further down the darkness and the lights behind him turned off again.

Behind him was a woman, Lana she called herself. She had told him that she was akin to a deity, or a goddess and she served a person who held the title of Teddy Emperor.

"Who is the master you serve? On all 8 citadels we have interacted with were neither human women nor a person who would be able to hold that title." He asked curiously. His gaze was fixed forward, not bothering with looking at Lana.

"As far as I am informed, his citadel has yet to make contact with others. He is the lone survivor and victor of the cleansing on his citadel in which he had to kill the other ninety-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine clones of himself." She told him.

"And what name does he—"

Lana held a sword to his neck, stopping him from continuing. "The lord's name is not for the ears of strangers. Only his subjects are allowed to hear and speak it, is what he said."

Geddos was not bothered by the sword, simply ignoring it. "You did not have that on you while entering my home. Where did it come from?" He asked, "And could you tell me how to do what you just did?"

"I created it based on the one his highness is carrying, and while I could teach you, my abilities are for me alone to know." The sword vanished from her hands and she lifted her gaze from the Geddos to go down the corridor.

On the walls she could see lights from around the corner. They walked around it and before them stretched a hangar, filled with magical objects and glyphs as far as the eye could see. It was Geddos' laboratory.

Geddos walked through the room, targeting a specific table and took a sheet of paper from it. "Read this, understand it and then—" He threw her his cloak, "—fix this." He put on a coat, gloves and a head piece for security.

"I am here on behalf of my king. I do not have time for this." She told him.

"Yes you do. If you truly are a deity, it should not take long and we can talk while you work." He looked at her, trying to appear fierce and dangerous, "Understood?"

Lana chuckled. Then she answered: "I said I am akin to a deity. Never that I truly am one." She put down the sheets of paper he had thrown at her, not even bothering to look at them. Walking over to his position, she glanced over his shoulder and put the cloak down onto the table. "Done."

He looked at the cloak. "Thank you." He slid her another sheet of paper with an unfinished plan on it. "First of all, I want you to free someone, secondly, how does your master divide the universe? I need to be sure we use the same system for our coordinates and I am not helping a man who genocided himself without getting something, or in this case someone, in return."

He took of the coat and grabbed the cloak. He put it on and noticed something: "Did you just make it more comfortable to wear?"

"Isn't that what you wanted?"

"I wanted the transformation to be more comfortable!" He snapped at her. Clicking a few buttons on the inside of the cloak he transformed back into his Teddy form. "A mirror, please." He said and stretched his arms.

Lana gave him one without saying anything, just looking at him.

He admired himself, or Teddy's appearance. "The eyes are fixed, thank you. And the transformation is indeed more comfortable."

"Yes, of course. You wanted it to be more comfortable to wear, so I made it." She sat down onto a chair she had found somewhere. "The coordinate division of the universe I can deliver after talking to his majesty. But could you ask for something… easier to accomplish than freeing someone trapped by the Alliance?"

"The Alliance?"

"Yes? I can see the data in your brain. You want the Teddy Emperor to free Captain Teddy from the Geddos Alliance, that is what they call themselves. But he would probably decline handing her over to you. He is the Emperor over all Teddy copies and he would adopt her into his empire. He would not care for her opinion on that matter." She was worried how Geddos would react, but did not say anything, waiting for a reply.

"Then keep her after she has done what I need her for." He told her coldly.

She got curious due to that reply, what could he need her for? "Tell me, what is it you want her for, even if only temporary."

He turned to face her and took off the cloak. He was quite happy that she made the voice activation work for his surface level thoughts. "Can't you tell from my data?"

"No. There is a lot going on in your brain. I only knew that you wanted her to be freed because I had been reading through it while we were walking down the corridor, not enough time to read everything."

The thought that he was so complex, even if only mentally, made him quite happy for a moment. But it only held until the thought occurred to him that he does not know how complex the others are. "What I need her for is not important to you. All you need to know is, she will be needed temporarily and your master can have her afterwards." He sat down as well, "Sounds good?"

"Sure, see you soon." She said and stood up. Before Geddos could ask her how long she believed it would take for her to return her body slightly started to glow before she just… vanished… right before his very eyes.
