Tan's eyes never left Jennifer's face as he guided her through the meeting, his gaze reassuring and supportive. After the clients left, he turned to her and asked, "How are you feeling? Really?" Jennifer hesitated, unsure of how to articulate her emotions.
"I'm trying, Tan. It's just...those words, they brought it all back." Tan nodded understandingly, his expression softening.
"We'll get through this together, okay?" He paused, collecting his thoughts. "I want you to take some time off, focus on your recovery. I'll handle the workload." Jennifer's eyes widened in protest, but Tan's firm expression silenced her.
"I mean it, Jennifer. Your health comes first." He smiled gently. "Besides, I need you at full strength to help me uncover the truth behind these threats."
As the day drew to a close, Tan accompanied Jennifer home, his protective instincts on high alert. He couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched, that the danger lurking in the shadows was far from over.
Upon reaching home, Tan settled in beside Jennifer on the couch, his arm wrapped around her shoulders. "Tell me more about the kidnapping," he said, his voice low and encouraging.
Jennifer's eyes clouded, and Tan could see the pain resurfacing. "I don't know if I can," she whispered. Tan's grip on her tightened.
"You don't have to, not yet. But I'm here for you, always." As they sat in silence, Tan's mind racing with strategies to protect Jennifer and catch the culprit, he realized that this was more than just a case – it was personal.
He would stop at nothing to keep Jennifer safe and bring the perpetrators to justice. The night wore on, Tan's determination growing with each passing moment.
The next morning, Tan woke up early, his mind still racing with thoughts of the case. He got out of bed, careful not to disturb Jennifer, and decided to visit her parents. He knew they might have some insight into the kidnapping or the person behind the threats.
After about 20 minutes of driving, Tan arrived at Jennifer's parents' house. He rang the bell, and a few minutes later, Minnie, the maid, opened the door.
"Good morning, sir," Minnie said, letting him in. "I'll go call Mr. and Mrs. Wilson."
Tan nodded and waited in the living room, taking in the familiar surroundings. He had been here many times before, but today, he felt a sense of purpose.
As he waited, Tan's mind wandered back to Jennifer and the case. He was determined to solve it and keep her safe. When Robert and Hailey arrived, Tan stood up, greeting them warmly.
"Tan, what brings you here?" Robert asked, concern etched on his face.
"I wanted to talk to you about Jennifer," Tan replied, his expression serious. "I've been thinking, and I believe we need to work together to catch the person behind these threats."
Hailey's eyes widened. "You think it's connected to the kidnapping?"
Tan nodded. "I'm not sure, but I have a feeling it might be. I was thinking that maybe you two could help me dig up some information."
Robert nodded. "We'll do whatever it takes to help Jennifer."
Tan's eyes sparkled with determination as he posed the question that made Robert and Hailey's jaws drop. "Can I leverage my underworld connections to track down Jennifer's tormentor?"
The room fell silent, the weight of his words hanging in the air. Robert and Hailey exchanged a worried glance, their faces etched with concern.
Tan's proposal was a double-edged sword - it could bring results, but it also risked entangling Jennifer in a web of danger.
"We're talking about the underworld, Tan," Robert cautioned, his voice low and measured. "Are you prepared for the risks?"
Tan's jaw set in resolve. "I'll do whatever it takes to keep Jennifer safe and the day my parents entered this messy world of mafias and illegal works, I knew that will be a lot of risks in my way."
"Okay, i'll be leaving now. Jennifer is alone at home."
The warm sunlight cast a golden glow over the scene as Tan's words lingered, leaving Robert and Hailey to ponder the implications of his plan. 'Would they dare to tread the dark path of the underworld to find Jennifer's tormentor?' This question echoed in Tan's mind as he left the Wilson's residence, the brightness of the morning contrasting with the darkness of his proposal. He got into his car and drove to his mansion, the gentle hum of the engine and the soft rustle of leaves in the breeze doing little to calm his racing thoughts. It was 11 o'clock in the morning.
As he entered, he was greeted by chaos courtesy of his wife, Jennifer. Flour coated every surface, and the room was in disarray. His prized Authentic Japanese Vase, purchased for 1 million Euros, lay shattered on the floor, its beauty lost forever. The once-elegant sofas and TV were now covered in a fine white powder. The scene was one of utter destruction, and he couldn't help but wonder what had driven Jennifer to such creative expression. The vase, once a stunning piece, now seemed even more lifeless than before, its fragments a testament to the mayhem that surrounded him.
To say he was feeling angry would be an understatement to the true feelings he currently had.
"JENNIFER." He shouted, furious, looking around seeing footsteps visible on the floor because of flour. He followed them to reach the kitchen, which looked as if a bomb blast happened there. Once upon a time, even an atom looked sparkling in this mansion, thanks to the hardworking servants, now the same mansion looked struck by a tornado, thanks to Jennifer, the dear wife of the owner of this mansion.
He looked around to see all the servants standing in the dining room infront of Jennifer, who was sitting on his chair, mimicking him.
"Jennifer, you can't go to office today, you got that?" Jennifer spoke up in a heavy voice trying to sound like her husband. She quickly sat on the chair, she always sat on to eat her meals and said in her own voice, "But -" "No Buts, you are not fine, you should rest." Quickly changing her position and voice she spoke up.
Turning to the servants who were facing Tan, they stood there, with their eyes widened with fear of getting scolded. Tan gestured them to stay quiet and let his wife act.
"Don't you guys think, your boss is too strict, tell me." She said looking at all the servants, even the bodyguards who kept their faces straight as if they were robots, were biting their lips to control their laugh, seeing their boss' wife's antics.
Jennifer eyed one of the servant to speak up her thoughts, the servant said, "N-no madam, he- he isn't that much strict, a-as a boss, he should be strict."
"What else do you think about him?" Tan spoke up. Not noticing, who was speaking, Jennifer, lost in her own world, said, "I think he is very hot headed and resembles a time bomb, which can blast anytime."
"Oh yeah!" Tan said nodding is head.
"Absolutely-" Jennifer stopped speaking as she turned around to see her husband standing, towering her, in his signature outfit, a three piece suit, hands in pocket, looking amused he questioned, "Absolutely what?"
