Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Picked Up a Master?

Mordred's gaze broke free from the darkness, only to unfortunately find herself plummeting from tens of thousands of meters in the air.

This situation reminded her of her Master's past Spiritron Transfer.

In that instant, a flash of insight struck her, and she blurted out, "That swindler Da Vinci-chan, even if I return to the Throne of Heroes, I'll chase you down and beat you to death!"

Yes, that's right—even in such an emergency, Mordred actually guessed the mastermind behind it. Amid her shouts, she continued to free-fall at high speed.

However, her body seemed to pause mid-air for a moment, and when she hit the sea, it felt like nothing much had happened.

Lying on her back, floating on the sea's surface, she felt something soft beneath her.

Regarding this situation, an unnamed individual had something to say: "He was just passing by in the air when disaster struck out of nowhere. Someone fell from the sky and smashed him into the sea. He was truly wronged—why was he so unlucky? Even if he'd hit the ground, it wouldn't have been this bad. If he stayed in the sea much longer, they'd probably be collecting his corpse soon."

But Mordred soon realized—she must have hit something mid-fall. Hmm… seems like someone cushioned her landing.

Thinking this, she flipped over and, sure enough, saw a person. Their condition didn't look good; they were unconscious.

Mordred hoisted the person onto her shoulder and leisurely made her way to a small island not far away.

She had no idea where this was. Aside from the island she was heading toward, all she could see was an endless expanse of sea.

Once ashore, she laid the person flat under a tree. Mordred sat nearby, lost in thought.

When she went to find her Master, it had been afternoon. But here, the time was clearly morning. The sun hung overhead, casting warm rays.

The sky and sea shared the same shade of blue, a gentle breeze blew, and occasionally, unknown birds flew past.

After a brief contemplation, Mordred reached a conclusion: this wasn't her original world—it was a place she'd never been before.

That damn Da Vinci-chan actually sent her to another world!!!

Beep… beep… Huh? A communicator?

Mordred found a communicator on her person. Pressing the answer button, Da Vinci-chan's mischievous grin appeared on the screen.

"Sir Mordred, you've already realized you're not in our original world, haven't you?

How does it feel to be in another world? Pretty fun, right?

Now, now, don't be mad. This is an important mission entrusted to you by your Master~"

The moment Da Vinci-chan invoked the Master's name, Mordred's furious expression calmed down.

She knew it—no one could refuse Ritsuka. No one! Da Vinci silently mused.

"What's the mission? Is there something unusual about this world?" Mordred truly couldn't refuse Ritsuka. Since things were already set in stone, having some fun in another world wasn't so bad.

"Well, your mission is to explore this world and enjoy a rare interworld journey!

Ritsuka said you'll have to tell them all about the fun things in this world when you return.

The most important part of this mission is your own will—nothing else.

Just a heads-up: in this world, you'll need to find a temporary Master.

Otherwise, you'll soon be sent back due to insufficient magical energy, and failing the mission would be quite embarrassing~" Da Vinci-chan said with a smile.

"One last thing—that person next to you has decent qualifications. You can contract them as a temporary Master.

I left a little something on you to make the contract easier.

Just absorb a drop of their blood, and the contract will be complete. No need for their consent.

Aren't I thoughtful? Well then, Sir Mordred, do your best~"

With that, Da Vinci immediately ended the call. If she didn't hang up soon, an overly provoked Mordred would start lashing out.

Mordred was a little annoyed that Da Vinci had tampered with her, but she had to consider her words.

Da Vinci wasn't wrong—Mordred was indeed running low on magical energy.

No choice then. To complete her Master's mission, she'd definitely have to stay.

To avoid complications, Mordred followed Da Vinci's instructions. Looking at the still-unconscious person, she took a drop of their blood and completed the contract.

Later, when Marco woke up, his reaction was… "This is way too reckless!" No one had even asked for his opinion!

A Master contract? Whether in the Grand Line, the Four Seas, or the New World, he'd never heard of such a thing!!!

Not to mention, this blonde girl kept calling him "Pineapple Head." His hairstyle was clearly cool!

And then, in just a few words, she told him they'd formed a contract and would now have to stick together—they were already bound.

Marco looked utterly defeated. She couldn't have been more perfunctory—did she even plan to explain properly?!

Mordred, on the other hand, found this Pineapple Head Master quite amusing. He wasn't rigid and had a good sense of humor.

Well, with a Master like this, the journey ahead should be fun.

Mordred gave Marco a knightly bow. "Alright then, Master. I am Saber, Mordred. Let's get along from now on."

Marco looked at the grinning girl, her golden hair gleaming in the sunlight.

He roughly understood the contract's meaning—he could feel the connection between them. Marco sighed inwardly. She's still just a kid…

"Well, I'm Marco. Let's get along from now on too."
