Anson's eyes instantly snapped toward Silas, a trace of suspicion flashing past his eyes as he mumbled, "I didn't know we had such important work that you two had to work late."
Silas narrowed his eyes at him for a moment before shifting them to Ezra.
"The work from last night can wait."
Ezra feigned confusion and frowned irritably. "It can wait? Why then were you two at the office if the work could've waited until a later date?"
Fearing the next words out of Silas' mouth would expose them, Elena panicked and quickly stepped forward to deflect.
"Mr. Locke, why don't we leave it as it is? Mrs. Locke won't be far, and you can easily call her if you need her."
"Also, she knows better than to fraternize with Mr. Elba and I believe he's not shameless enough to go to the room of a married woman."
"Having the Chairman change our assigned rooms because of something like this seems unnecessary. Don't you think?"
Hearing her, Silas inhaled sharply, his jaw clenching hard.
