In the tranquil garden, Chronoa continued strolling alongside Raditz and Trunks when an owl-like creature suddenly burst from the nearby building, fluttering directly toward the Supreme Kai of Time.
Upon hearing the familiar chirping, Chronoa's eyes immediately lit up with delight. "You're finally awake! You silly bird, sleeping until now." She embraced Tokitoki affectionately, rubbing her cheek against the creature's fluffy plumage.
Raditz's expression grew thoughtful as his gaze swept across the grass before settling on the unusual pet. He studied the small, rotund bird quietly—despite its seemingly innocent appearance, it moved with remarkable agility and grace. Something about those intelligent eyes pierced like needles.
He couldn't see through this so-called "pet." Though nothing appeared obviously special about Tokitoki, Raditz could sense tremendously powerful energy contained within its small form. This wasn't ordinary ki—it was complex spacetime energy itself!
"That's Tokitoki, the Supreme Kai of Time's companion. Don't underestimate him—he holds tremendous importance here," Trunks explained in hushed tones.
"I can see that," Raditz replied with knowing smile.
Chronoa approached with Tokitoki nestled in her arms. "Tokitoki, this is Raditz—you haven't met him before!" The ancient deity's suddenly childlike, adorable tone made Raditz suppress an involuntary shiver.
Tokitoki chirped at Raditz several times with apparent enthusiasm and curiosity.
"Nice to... meet you," Raditz responded somewhat awkwardly.
The mystical bird seemed drawn to him, spreading its wings to flutter gracefully onto his left shoulder where it perched contentedly.
"Haha, Tokitoki seems quite fond of you..." Chronoa began cheerfully, but her expression suddenly turned serious as she looked skyward. "No way... he's actually coming here?"
Her voice carried unmistakable reverence and gravity: "Whis!"
Raditz felt genuine shock while Trunks looked completely bewildered, though both detected the sacred respect in Chronoa's tone. Whis—that was an Angel!
Within moments, a brilliant torrent of light descended from the heavens as golden runes materialized with dazzling radiance.
Circular apertures rotated while luminescence rippled outward like water disturbed by stones. The sacred majesty and ethereal freedom stunned everyone present, transforming the entire atmosphere instantaneously.
Wave after wave of light and shadow dazzled the three observers' eyes, until within the brilliant center, a figure gradually took form.
The newcomer leaned casually on an ornate staff, possessing exquisite features that would move even gods to admiration. His eyes sparkled with warm, crystal clarity like precious gemstones, while his distinctive silver-white hair caught and reflected the divine light. He wore flowing red and black robes with a characteristic blue halo suspended around his neck.
Despite his slender build, purple lips, and somewhat pale complexion, Whis radiated undeniable divine authority. Chronoa immediately offered a respectful bow while nodding deferentially.
Not only the Supreme Kai of Time, but virtually every deity in the universe showed similar reverence to Angels.
Angel Whis represented an invincible existence within the seventh universe. Even Beerus received training from Whis. As Vados's brother, he resembled her in appearance and likely matched her incredible strength. He served as mentor to the God of Destruction, existing on a fundamentally higher dimensional plane. Such beings could remain completely detached even during universal annihilation, having long transcended all conventional limitations.
"Lord Supreme Kai of Time, it's been quite a while," Whis greeted warmly, his voice soft and perpetually calm despite his gentle smile.
"Indeed it has. What brings Mr. Whis to my domain today?"
"Hehe, I came to pay respects to the Supreme Kai of Time, but also for him," Whis pointed directly at Raditz and walked slowly in his direction.
Raditz truly hadn't expected this development. Meeting Vados in the sixth universe had been fortunate coincidence, but having Whis appear voluntarily in the seventh universe represented extraordinary honor. Though he had encountered many deities—from Guardian Gods to Supreme Kais and Gods of Destruction—it was the Angels who commanded his deepest respect! He never imagined an Angel would seek him out personally!
"Me?" Raditz managed, barely concealing his surprise.
"Yes, Mr. Raditz. I heard fascinating things about you from my sister. As an Apprentice Supreme Kai, I've never heard of someone traveling to the sixth universe to seek training from a God of Destruction. What a wonderfully bold idea."
Whis covered his mouth while chuckling with obvious amusement.
Trunks quietly approached Raditz and whispered urgently, "Who is he? Why is Lady Chronoa being so formal? I can't sense any energy from him at all."
"Quiet. That's Mr. Whis—an Angel and the most powerful being in our universe."
"What..." Trunks felt amazed. His inability to detect any ki signature—could it be because Whis's power transcended all perceptual limits? "Then... since Lady Chronoa knows Mr. Whis personally, why didn't she ask him to destroy Towa and Mira?"
Raditz lowered his voice further: "Because Angels maintain absolute neutrality. They don't interfere with universal development, even in the face of total destruction."
What? Trunks couldn't comprehend such divine principles, feeling an inexplicable chill run through his body.
"It's perfectly fine to speak normally—I don't mind being overheard," Whis said as he approached Raditz. "You're absolutely correct about our neutrality. However, Mr. Raditz handled the demon realm situation quite admirably. Haha, you're both Saiyans with such remarkable power—truly rare. Your strength impressed me greatly, and that recent transformation was particularly surprising. Could you explain what type of power that was?"
Whis seemed genuinely interested in Raditz's abilities, though his curiosity stemmed partly from Vados's influence. Since Raditz had appeared in the sixth universe, Vados had not only communicated with the Supreme Kai but also contacted Whis directly to discuss the unusual Saiyan. Later, when Raditz returned to the seventh universe for his battles with Broly and Mira, the tremendous energy collisions had attracted Whis's personal attention.
This interest had motivated his visit to the Time Nest. With Beerus sleeping peacefully and few immediate responsibilities, he had time for such investigations.
Facing Whis's inquiry, Raditz answered truthfully: "That was the Super Saiyan 3 transformation. Through my experiences with Lord Champa, I gained insight into higher dimensional power and developed this form by building upon that understanding."
"Super Saiyan 3? That implies the existence of levels 1 and 2 as well... Can you increase your strength with each successive transformation? Fascinating." Whis immediately grasped the implications and nodded with appreciation.
"No wonder my sister spoke so highly of you."
Raditz hadn't expected to receive such praise from Vados, and felt unexpected joy welling up from within. Chronoa seemed even more surprised—she had known Raditz disappeared into the sixth universe and met Vados, but never imagined he'd earned such acclaim from an Angel. This Apprentice Supreme Kai might be receiving treatment that actual Supreme Kais rarely enjoyed.
A thrilling new possibility began forming in Raditz's mind.
