The sands of Ydrel whispered beneath the starlight, yet Kael's thoughts were louder still. Elyssari slept quietly beside a prism of softly ticking crystal—a cocoon-like stasis she had chosen after the trauma of awakening.
Elowen knelt nearby, etching runes of protection.
"She's… from before even the System," she murmured. "Her memories span collapsed realities."
"She's fragile now," Kael replied. "But what she holds could change everything."

At the bottom, protected by a shimmering dome, stood an ancient city sculpted from fossilized coral and obsidian.
Guarding its gates were twin leviathans.

The gates creaked open.

Atop it sat a woman with skin of opal and scales of night-blue. Her hair moved like currents. Her eyes opened as they entered—two suns long extinguished.

They passed the trial.
Kael stepped forward.
