Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

Tracy wasn't happy with the payment terms. Even though what the other party said made sense, and their company couldn't change its payment system just for her, she really needed money now to open her store. If she had to wait until the 15th of next month to get the money, that would be too late.

"Future payments can be settled on the 15th, but for this first deal, I hope you can pay me right away. I came to work with you because I need this money," Tracy said.

Mr. Yan listened to her request and didn't think it was a big issue. With his authority, he could talk to the finance department and arrange to pay her in advance for this first deal.

Mr. Yan also understood Tracy's concern. She was probably worried they might delay or not pay at all. Since this was their first cooperation and they hadn't built any trust yet, her concern was reasonable. Besides, Mr. Yan was confident about this collaboration.

So he didn't make it difficult and said, "We're serious about this cooperation. If you really need the money, we can pay you in advance for this batch. But I hope you can give us more high-quality jewelry designs."

"That won't be a problem," Tracy replied.

After they discussed the contract in detail, Tracy signed it. The cooperation officially started. She took out the jewelry she had prepared and handed them to Mr. Yan.

"This is the first batch I prepared. There are 50 pieces in total. You can ask someone to check them," Tracy said.

"Please have some tea while you wait. I'll get someone to inspect the jewelry. It won't take much time," Mr. Yan said.

When Mr. Yan saw the jewelry, his eyes lit up. As a senior manager, he knew a lot about jewelry. These items were clearly very beautiful and well-made. They were top-quality products.

Still, he wasn't the one to make the final judgment. They needed professional designers to check them.

The company had several skilled jewelry designers. When Mr. Yan asked them to evaluate the items, the designers were shocked.

The designs were amazing. So many beautiful and creative pieces appeared all at once. Did the company bring in a top expert? Why didn't anyone know?

If such a talented person had joined the company, they wanted the chance to learn from them.

Although they were curious, they focused on finishing the evaluations first. After that, they could ask more.

The designers also saw Tracy sitting there. But she looked so young, they didn't think she was the one who made these designs.

After carefully checking the jewelry, they noticed that all the pieces were excellent, but the design styles were a bit different. It looked like they came from more than one person. Maybe the company had hired a few skilled designers at once. They were eager to meet them and learn.

After they finished the evaluation, they said to Mr. Yan, "These designs are all excellent. Based on the standards you gave us, every piece is approved. But we're curious, who made these? Could you introduce us to them? If we could talk with these designers, we would learn so much."

Mr. Yan smiled and said, "Looks like you all really like the designs. The person you want to meet is right in front of you. If you want their guidance, that's up to you. I can't help with that."

After he spoke, the designers finally looked at Tracy more seriously. Earlier, they saw her, but didn't think much of it. Now they realized there was no one else in the room except Tracy and Mr. Yan. And obviously, Mr. Yan didn't design them. That meant this young woman might really be the one who made them.

"Mr. Yan, are you serious? Are you saying this young lady made all of these? That can't be. Even if she's very talented, it's hard to believe she could design so many top-quality pieces in different styles," one designer said.

"You have to believe that talented people do exist in this world," Mr. Yan replied. "Since you've approved the designs, let's get to work. Use these as the sample pieces and start making the new batch. They'll be our main products this season."

The designers had nothing to say. The pieces were truly good. Using them as this season's main items made sense. They were sure these products would boost the company's sales.

But they were still surprised. How could someone so young have such talent? Still, Mr. Yan wouldn't lie about something like this.

One designer looked at Tracy and said, "May I ask your name, Master Designer? You're so young, yet your designs are amazing. Truly impressive. Could we learn from you?"

Tracy didn't expect Mr. Yan to say she was the designer. In truth, she wasn't. He misunderstood.

"My name is Tracy. I think there's been a mistake. I didn't design these. A friend of mine made them. I'm just helping to sell them," Tracy explained.

The designers believed her right away. They hadn't really thought she was the one who made them anyway.

"Oh, I see. Then, is there any chance we could meet your friend?" one of them asked, eyes full of hope.

Seeing how eager and motivated they were, Tracy was surprised. She didn't think they would care so much. But the problem was, she didn't actually have such a talented friend. So she could only politely refuse.

"I have a friend who doesn't like to deal with strangers. If there's a chance in the future, I'll introduce you," Tracy said.

The others could tell that Tracy was just brushing them off. It was clear she didn't want to help them. But they had no choice, so they left Mr. Yan's office and went back to work as he instructed.

"Miss Tracy, I didn't expect you to bring so many great designs on your first deal. We're truly surprised. Don't worry, we'll take good care of these pieces. They will surely shine brightly," Mr. Yan said.

"That's my duty. I hope your company makes big profits," Tracy replied.

"It's all thanks to you. The first payment is 450,000 yuan. I've already spoken to the finance department. We can transfer the money now. From now on, the payment will be sent to your account on the 15th of each month," Mr. Yan said.

"Thank you, Mr. Yan," Tracy said.

Hearing that she was getting 450,000 yuan, Tracy felt very excited. It was the first time she had so much money.

After receiving the bank transfer message, Tracy felt a little dizzy.

Cris and the police were waiting outside the Baolai Jewelry Company for Tracy to come out. Huro saw this and didn't hesitate. He went straight into the company.

This was a good chance. The police weren't following Tracy inside. They were just guarding outside. Now he had a chance to talk to her.

"I've received the money. Looking forward to working together again," Tracy said.

"Looking forward to it. If you have any more excellent designs, feel free to bring them to our company," Mr. Yan said.

"No problem. I won't bother you any longer. Goodbye," Tracy said.

Tracy left Mr. Yan's office. At the corner of the hallway, someone called out to her.

"Miss Tracy, hello. Can I have a few minutes of your time to talk?" Huro asked.

Tracy looked at Huro and was sure she didn't know him. If she didn't know him, why was he calling her?

Could he be a spy from another jewelry company? Maybe he found out she was working with Mr. Yan and wanted to steal her over.

If that was the case, Tracy didn't really mind. Even though she had signed a contract with Baolai Jewelry, it didn't say she could only sell to them.

If another company could offer a better price, she would consider selling to them too. After all, she could easily get a lot of jewelry. One company couldn't sell everything on their own.

"No problem. Where do you want to talk?" Tracy asked.

Huro had studied the layout of the jewelry company and knew there was a lounge nearby. He took Tracy there.

Tracy thought they were going to talk about jewelry. But when they got to the lounge, Huro suddenly locked the door, pulled out a gun, and pointed it at her.

Tracy was stunned. What was going on? Why was this happening?

Was he a terrorist?

She thought the country had strict gun control. How did she end up in this kind of situation just for discussing a business deal? This was too unlucky.

With a gun pointed at her, Tracy didn't dare to move or call for help. She believed Huro could kill her before anyone else arrived. Even if someone came, they wouldn't be able to stop a man with a gun.

"Don't be nervous. I don't mean any harm. I just want to ask you a few questions. If you cooperate, I won't hurt you. Honestly, I hate trouble, so please don't make this harder. Otherwise, I might do something terrible if I get nervous," Huro said.

If Tracy entered her dimensional shop right now, he wouldn't be able to do anything to her. But that would reveal her secret.

She didn't want anyone to know about that place. Unless she never planned to come back to the real world, once that secret got out, it would only bring endless trouble.

So unless she had no other choice, she wouldn't hide in the shop.

"What do you want to ask? I'm just an ordinary person. I probably can't help you," Tracy said.

"I know who you are, so don't try anything. I just want to ask one thing. Do you remember going to that coffee shop downstairs a few days ago?" Huro asked.

"Of course I remember. I did go there. Don't tell me that criminal the police were after in the café was you?" Tracy asked.

"Knowing too much can be dangerous. Just answer what I ask and don't make me angry," Huro said.

Tracy saw his serious expression and didn't dare to upset him. Whatever he asked, she answered.

Seeing her being so cooperative, Huro finally asked what he had been dying to know: "Did you ever find a file in your bag with a photo that looked like me?"

Tracy looked at the photo on his phone and finally realized why there had been something like a USB drive in her bag that day. So it was him who slipped it in.

She remembered someone bumped into her that day. It must have been him. But he looked different now. Could he actually use disguises? That was impressive.

No wonder he dared to come and confront her directly.

But now her life was in his hands. She couldn't afford to lie.

He was a dangerous criminal. Even the police were careful with him. She was just an ordinary woman. She wasn't going to risk her life.

"I did see that thing. But I didn't know what it was. It didn't seem useful, so I threw it away," Tracy said.
