Chapter 1

Diego

It hasn't been a day and I've already got an enemy.

The school president resent me, for absolutely no reason.

Well, I'm not a pushover, if he tries to bully me or torment me in any way, he will regret it.

Though, I haven't met him, but heard his words saying, "His roommates will give him a tour, I don't have time to walk around babies like him." Like HIM? What does that even mean? In a bored assertive baritone voice through the principal's office as I was about to knock and report about sharing a room – I don't like to share, but I chose to walk away instead.

And of course, he did not give me a tour of the school since every newcomer arrived the day before yesterday, while I arrived yesterday in the late afternoon.

My roommates did. They gave me a tour, the roommates I thought they were going to be somewhat snobbish like some learners I came across and giving some wry, and unwelcoming eyes.

They don't bother me.

I found my roommates not snobbish, but friendly, cheerful, welcoming and incredibly handsome.

Jules Ross is a blonde with long pressed hair to his shoulders, pierced ears, and brown normal shaped eyes yet cute while Lucas Hall is a brunette with a very short clean haircut, grey squinted eyes and both are fair white skin toned with the same athletic slender agile body figures, the same height as they are an inch shorter than me.

Everything about this school is my parents' dream – the type of school they wished they attended in their days, not me. I don't resent the school, but I miss my comfort – my previous normal fancy Montè Arbor High School and also having the best times with my best friend, Caleb Jung. Huffing, I miss him terribly, they separated us and now….. now I'm stuck here, for the rest of the term.

Sighing.

Suddenly, the mass in the hall stands up from their seats, my roommates, let me just call them my friends taps me on my shoulders since I'm between them for me to stand.

I do too.

Today is the welcoming ceremony.

The stage brightens up, and there's a podium with a few chairs on its left side and one on the right side and instantly the lights blind under us.

We watch the teachers strolling inside to their chairs, but not sit and wait….. I guess it's the principal.

I met him, and he exudes his title as an Alpha and the school principal, even though he has a high-pitched deep bass and a stern face I sensed a glint of humbleness in his voice yesterday when he was talking to me, but I can say, I've never met an Alpha who's so tall like him and with his neat upright walk, made everything worse.

Yes, he walks in wearing a black suit, white shirt and the black tie that stands behind the podium.

And….. my eyes squinted, widened and back to normal in a second while the rate of my heart quickened and got back to normal pace when the learner built like a linebacker, and so tall that he held everyone's breath with his sudden appearance walking towards the principal.

He sits on the right side. I guess he's the school president, thinking to myself with a slight nod.

Folding my arms to my chest after we sat down and listened to the principal, welcoming everyone, his teachers, previous learners and newcomers like myself and he started addressing the rules of the school.

No use of cell phones inside the classes, we all participate in the school activities, the light punishment, a learner cleans the whole ground for a whole week, extreme punishment, they send you back home or report you to the police, it depends, no fighting with each other and there's a 2 hours time in between that every learner should be in a library studying.

He turns his head to the left side and introduces us to each of his teachers... I end up yawning.

Jules on my right side gives me an elbow.

Shaking my head to stay awake.

He's done and turns to his right side and says, "This is Bruce Russell, your school president, give him a round of applause." Everyone does except me but Jules and Lucas don't give me that chance by elbowing me at the same time while clapping.

I sigh and slightly clap, once and twice then stop.

Gosh, he's not a god.

As I roll my eyes out of boredom, that confident baritone voice transmits in my ears through the mic and avert my eyes from my thighs to him.

"As the president of the school, I guarantee you that you're all free to come to me when you have questions or reports, thank you." He smiles and backs away to his seat and sits down.

Phony.

In 30 minutes, the hall was empty and we were placed in our classes - thankfully, my friends and I we are placed in the same class, History but not sitting on the same row as we sitting according to the letters of our surnames.

Which means, I'm on the first row but on the third desk.

Bored, and bolt my eyes to Jules — he's far by the last row on the second desk while Lucas is in the middle.

Again, I'm also being separated from people I'm close to….. first, it was my best friend and now my two new friends.

This is going to be a hell of a whole term.

But luckily, it seems like "Thee president of the school" won't be in my class. Let me just say, that we attend different subjects and that is cool. I don't want to see a sight of him.

Not that he did some heinous thing to me— yet because with his words, he will.

The teacher strolls inside the class with the stack of papers swinging in the air as he walks grasped tightly in his hand.

He clears his throat, standing in front of me behind the chalkboard after putting the papers on his desk, then says, "I'm your history teacher, Mr. Thompson and I hope we will all participate in everything I order for you to do."

Mr. Thompson doesn't look organized yet he looks witty and bold enough to stand for himself as he's the omega from the oppressing Alphas.

That is another thing I hate about Alphas, oppressing and another is arrogance.

The period is long with the clock not moving as I watch it over the wall above Mr. Thompson who's sat on his chair and gave us papers to read the article about the history of Alphas and Omegas.

The article is not a bit interesting, but he said he's going to give us a mini-test tomorrow first thing in the morning since his period is the first one.

I indulge myself in. I try. My desk receives my right elbow I rest it on, then have my head rest on the back of my palm heel and heed on paper below my eyes.

When the clock echoed in the classroom from the corridor, my head was nodding and ready to thud on the desk.

Thankfully, it didn't happen.

"See you tomorrow," he waves a bye as he walks out of the classroom with his messy hair waving too.

Gosh, I breathe.

How many periods are we left with?

Turning, to watch my friends so energetic with vibrant eyes talking to each other while still far away from each other. The envy hits me, and hard that I miss Caleb.

If he was here, we were going to talk the entire time and think we were sitting next to each other.

Teachers came by and introduced themselves to us with time flying nicely.

I've already met 4 teachers so far, and now it's lunch.

While I packed books in my backpack, two omegas sprinted to my desk with screams.

These two are so hyperactive for no reason.

Rolling my eyes at them as I shove my backpack over my shoulders.

"What is your favourite food? Fruits? Are you a vegetarian?" Jules asks in his energetic nasal tenor voice while walking on my right side with a grin on his face like an excited baby.

I think, with eyes staring up and slightly squinted.

Shaking my head. "No, I don't have any allergies and I think I eat everything as far as I know," I answer to them.

"Perfect, they have burgers with fries, rolls, sausages, salads all kinds and other food," Lucas audible his voice. His voice is just tenor and so energetic as he speaks too.

Thinking about Caleb, about how we are just alike.

We are proper and that's how others define us. Proper and now I'm stuck with these two but not that I'm complaining, maybe they will make my days not boring and think less of my previous school but not Caleb, because as soon we finish attending classes and everything, I'm face timing him.

The canteen is already packed when we reach inside, but since it is divided with grades all of the lines are moving fast while we are on the line too.

"What do you think about the Alphas in here?" Jules asks while playing with his round diamond chain to his neck that is decorated with blue butterflies.

Jules jump and squeak, "Yes, tell us."

I stare at both of them, still surprised with how they get all of these energies while I'm already worn out and starving.

Their grins make me chuckle a bit but brush it away.

I feel guilty about laughing or anything to do with being happy because I have to be miserable. I didn't sign up to be in here. Caleb, he's probably miserable for being away from me right now.

"No one," I answer and finally, I get to eat.

Shoving everything in my tray, mostly bread and fewer fruits. One apple will do.

We find the available desk with 4 chairs in the middle and we settle on it.

The two talk while we are eating, and I tried to listen to them but my ears are blocked from being hungry and focusing on food.

Grabbing my apple juice, and sip from the straw while sprinting my eyes on each of them. They're talking but I hear nothing.

"What do you think, Diego?" Lucas asks as he cuts a fry in half with his teeth and stares at me.

I heard nothing.

I got saved. Hmmmm, no, I'm annoyed.

A mountain-like person is thudding his large hands on our table and staring at me like I've done him wrong.

Slipping the straw out of my lips and fix my eyes on the hazel ones and try to malice them.

I brink two of my elbows on the table rest them and just give this Alpha a stare.

He doesn't blink, same as I.

He doesn't utter a word, and same as I but trying to thin his lips. Well, his lips are full and plump-like, so thinning for him it's impossible.

I watch as his shoulders grow from his blazer and chest heaving up from the pullover while he breathes like an ancient train while gnawing his claws on the table.

It's steel, but I can see the scratches when I have my eyes on it.

One of his eyes twitched, the one on the left covered with vitiligo skin condition after I grabbed my juice to drink.

This proves that he definitely doesn't like me, but I lean back on my chair to show him that he doesn't scare me and continue drinking while he twitches his eye once more.

I scoff.
