# Chapter 95: The Battle Begins
The ground shook. I felt it in my bones.
War was here.
I stood on the hill. Looking down at the valley. Our packs were ready. Hundreds of wolves. All waiting for my signal.
The Shadow Council came from the north. Black robes flowing. Eyes like dead coals. They moved like death itself.
"Ready?" Marcus asked me.
I nodded. My hands were shaking. The artifacts around my neck felt hot. They knew what was coming.
"For the packs," I said.
"For the packs," he said back.
The first arrow flew. One of theirs. It hit a tree near my head.
"Now!" I screamed.
Our wolves charged. The battle began.
I ran down the hill. My pack behind me. The artifacts were glowing now. Bright like little suns. They made me faster. Stronger.
A Shadow Council warrior jumped at me. His claws were black. Sharp. I dodged. My claws ripped his throat.
Blood sprayed everywhere. Hot. Sticky. It got in my eyes.
