Continuing their journey to the north they camped at the side of the road and other travelers jouned them with one of them telling them stories of airbenders in the northern air temple.
Aang then really wanted to see if these stories really told the truth and there were really some of the airbenders remaining.
"You really think there are any airbenders left?" Katara asked.
"You want me to answer like you or honestly?" Sokka just said carving something on a block of wood.
"Are you calling me a liar?" Katara asked.
"I'm just saying you are very optimistic, same thing really" he answered.
"Sokka is right, there is no way the air nomads just isolated themselves for over one hundred years" Akira said.
"Look,we are there" Aang said pointing forward to the temple where people were flying in the air.
"Look Aang, real airbenders! What did I tell you?" Katara said smugly with a look to Sokka and Akira.
"No, those aren't real airbenders. You can clearly see that from their movements. Those people are missing the spirit" Aang said and a laughing guy in a weelchair was gliding over their heads.
"I don't know, he seems pretty spirited to me" Katara said.
Aang grabbed his glider and raced with the flying boy in complicated air manoevers.
"Hey let's land and watch the show" Akira said and Appa landed at the entrance of the temple.
Afzer Aang and the boy Theo were finished having their fun they also landed besides them.
"That was really good, I'm Theo" the boy said "you must be an airbender to be able to move like that but that would mean...you are the avatar!!! That's amazing, i've heard so many stories about you"
"I am Aang and these are my friends, Katara, Sokka and Akira" Aang said, introducing them.
"This glider wheelchair is so awesome" Sokka said looking at the glider.
"If you are amazed at this then you should see the stuff my father makes" Theo said "he is the genius here, all the inventions come from him"
He then showed them into the inside of the temple and it was even worse than in the cartoons.
Akira felt disgusted by this person to make this sanctuary, something akin to a church into a factory building.
"This is blasphemy...where is that bastard I will personally kill him" Akira said and looked at Theo.
"What...why do you want to kill my father?" Theo asked intimidated by Akira.
"First he completly destroyed this sanctuary of peace with no respect for it's culture. He should do at least that much if he lives in someone elses building but he destroyed thousand years of history and culture all for what? For his retarded inventions I came up with over 5 years ago?" Akira went on and on "if he wanted a factory he should have built it somewhere else! Second you father sells his inventions to the fire nation, I've seen records about it and the deal they made with your father. His name is Alberto right?"
"He works for the fire nation? No I don't believe you!"Theo insisting.
"Where is that room that can only be opened with airbending? Show it to me" Akira demanded and Theo relucantly showed them the way to the door.
"This part of the temple is untouched, the door can oly be opened by an airbender..."
"Bullshit. Untouched my ass. Aang open it. Behind it you will find war prototypes specificially invented and build for the fire nation" Akira said and Aang stepped forward and opened the door.
Just as Akira said the whole room was filled with war machines.
"Aang with your permission, I will burn this to the ground" Akira said and Aang just nodded.
Akira lighted a blue flame inside his hand and a second lazer the room became a scorching inferno burning everything inside it and melting the metal.
"I can't believe it, my father worked for the fire nation this whole time" Theo mumbled to himself still too stunned to speak.
"How about we leave now Aang, I don't want to be around those people else i'll really kill his father" Akira said pointing to Theo.
"Alright" Aang said and as they turned around they were faced with Alberto.
"You need to understand, I didn't have a choice" he said "A year after we came here they found us. They wanted to burn this whole place down but I begged them not to do it. They asked me what I can offer in return...I could only offer my service" Alberto said.
"When will they be here again?" Akira asked.
"Soon, very soon" Alberto said "It could be any moment. If I can't deliver they will attack this place and destroy everything"
"Alright, I changed my mind. Let's first kill those firebenders and defeat them. You will do your best to restore everything back to how it was before and get rid of those pipes and everything is that clear?" Akira said and Alberto nodded a bit sad.
Then a shrill sound echoed through the whole temple.
"That's the signal, they are here!" Alberto said panicked.
"Good let's go" Akira said and went ahead to Alberto's working place where a fire nation solider was already waiting.
"The deal is over, go take your men and fuck off,else you will all be dead" Akira said and kicked the man back down.
"You...You will regret this!" he said and dissapeared.
"Akira, is that really okay? How do we even win when they come with their army?" Sokka asked.
"It's fine, don't worry, you have me" Akira said and they all looked at him as if he had grown a second head.
"You assholes, despite my age I am the best firebender in the whole world" Akira snarled "Even Jeong Jeong isn't as powerful as me"
The staring at him just continued until Sokka began laughing"hahahaha, yeah, good joke but seriously, how do we win this?" he asked.
"Just wait and watch" Akira said and went outside to wait for the army while meditating all while the rest of team avatar was freaking out on what to do to.
After a few hours the fire nation soliders finally arrived and he stretched himself to be ready when they come.
He then took flight, flames blasting out of his shoes and flying down the edge where he saw the army of firebenders.
Without a second thought he blasted them away with his lightning, the powerful explosions caused by it either directly killing the soliders or blasting them away.
The soliders quickly recovered and firebenders shot balls of fire at him.
He bocked it with a wall of blue flames and created two giant fire whips that he swung at the soliders, splitting the metal armor of the soliders like butter.
The tanks have started to move up the mountain, their metalchains pulling them up.
A slash of his blue firewhip cut the chains and let the tanks fall to the ground.
A few were able to save themselves with a second chain but Akira just cut them again with another slash of his fire whip and let them fall down to crash brutally on the rough cliff of the mountain.
The rest of the soliders fled in fear at this brutal demonstration of firebending.
The rest of team avatar just stared at him in amazement with their mouths agape.
"You just went boom and fush" Sokka said miminking his movements with his hand "that was so awesome!"
"I said it no? I am the best firebender in the world!" Akira said proudly and the people cheered as they saw the army of the fire nation retreat.
"Alright, we are done here right? Let's finally go to the north pole, I really want to learn proper waterbending" Akkra said and jumped on Appa.
Aang and the rest said goodbye to the people and joined him on Appas back.
"Alright, to the north pole, Apla yip yip!" Aang said and Appa started to fly to the icy ocean in the distance.
