Akira woke up when it dawned ant the fire soliders were marching into the water tribe with their war machines.
It seems like him defeating half their fleet wasn't enough.
He checked his chi reserves and was glad he had recovered about half of his chi.
However he needed to use it sparingly now to be able to guard the spirit of the moon.
Seeing the ships of the fire nation tearing down the wall he immediately retreated to the inner walls. Without stopping he ran to the spirit oasis.
He would wait here and kill Zhao the moment he showed up.
The air around him changed to warm temperatures and his chi started to recover at a faster rate.
Greed took over him and he filled several bottles with the spiritual water of the oasis.
Ain't no way he was passing on some super healing water that can bring anyone back from the brink of death.
After he put it inside his inventory he looked around for any well hidden places for an ambush.
He needed to have justification to kill Zhao without any consequences and he would time his attack just before Zhao would kill the moon spirit.
He then sat down somewhere hidden where he could look over everything that happened in the oasis and meditated to recover the rest of his chi.
Before he realized what happened it was already dark but he niw had recovered the rest of his chi.
He watched with rapt attention as Zhao entered the spirit oasis with a troop of a few firebending soliders.
Zhao took out a sack and captured the moon spirit.
Even Akira felt how the power of the water left his body and he suddenly felt dizzy.
The full moon then shifted it's colour to a blood red and Akira made himself ready to kill Zhao with a single precise lightning strike.
Aang arrived on the back of Appa and tried to convince Admiral Zhao to let the spirit go.
Iroh also joined, threatening Zhao to return the spirit.
Akira charged the lightning in his hands and watched Zhao return the spirit into the pool.
A second later his face turned angry and he raised his hand coated in flames.
"Nooooo" Iroh screamed and Akira shot Zhao down instantly killing him.
All eyes turned to where he stood and he walked out of his hiding spot.
He then carged his hands again and launched it at the soliders who were hit and went down smoking.
Even Aang stayed silent at this brutal execution.
"Do you see it now? Do you understand now that you can't win this war without spilling the blood of your enemies?" Akira asked Aang who just stayed silent completly understanding that Zhao needed to be stopped to keep the balance of this world.
Iroh, seeing that the spirit was safe left quickly and retreated back to the ships.
"Alright everyone, let's drive those bastards out of the northpole!" Akira shouted and together they went outside and joined the battle.
Althrough it couldn't really be counted as a battle.
The moment the fire nation soliders saw Akira they screamed in fear and ran as fast as they could.
"Aaaaahhhh the water demon is here!!! Everyone run for your life" a solider shouted and they all retreated.
"Just what did you do to them in the last night?" Sokka asked curiously.
"Oh nothing much, I just wiped out half of their fleet before I ran out of chi" Akira said and Sokka just looked at him speechless.
"It's true, I saw it with my own eyes how ship after ship began to sink" a warrior of the water tribe said and hugged Akira.
A crowd had gathered around him and they all cheered "Water demon, Water demon!!!" they chanted again and again and Akira enjoyed the attention as a war hero.
Akira took off his demon mask and raised his hand silencing the crowd.
"Now is not the time to celebrate. We have a lot of wounded and people who left their lives in this battle. Look after them first and mourn over your lost family or friends. We still have a lot of work to do" Akira said and everyone raised their fists and cheered althrough not as ethusiastic as before.
Akira looked at princess Yue. He wondered what would change with her surviving this battle.
Next to Yue stood chief Arnook who looked at Akira who was organizing the reparations of the city.
"He is a natural and powerful leader" he said to his daughter "today this man has started his ledgend, the legend of Akira the water demon"
Yue just nodded "he defeated half of the navy by himself and saved the moon spirit from admiral Zhao. We all are in his debt" princess Yue said and Arnook turned to her.
"I have changed my mind. It would be better for you to marry a man like him than Hahn" Arnook said "If he agrees the engagement to Hahn will be cancelled"
Yue just stood there silently looking at Sokka with a sad gaze "yes father" she said and went back to the palace.
"Akira, our hero. I really don't know how I can thank you. You have proven to be an exeptional waterbender and a natural leader. As your reward I offer you the hand of my daughter Yue in marriage" Arnook said to him and Akira didn't know if he heard that right.
"Whaaaaaattttt? Why does he get to marry her now, I thought Hahn was supposed to marry her?" Sokka asked.
"Thank you for the offer chief Arnook but I abhor arranged marriages. If you want to thank me then change your so called traditions. Let women learn the art of waterbending and forcing them into marriages they don't want and to be honest with you I really don't know what you thought about when you promised your daughter to Hahn. He is absolutely useless and arrogant and there isn't the slightest flicker of love or affection between them" Akira said "she only obeys your arrangements out of a sense of duty to you and the people of the water tribe".
Arnook was shooked at Akiras outburst.
After he recovered he slowly nodded "Alright, if that is what you wish for then we will follow your wish. You will forever be a friend of the water nation" Arnook said and Akira nodded.
"Alright, now that Katara and me became masters of waterbending we can teach Aang by ourselves. We now need to go to the earth kingdom to find an earthbending teacher for Aang, thank you for everything" Akira said bowing to the chief.
"Master Pakku will accompany you for a while at the start of your journey to the earth nation. He said he wants to go to the southern water tribe and restore it" chief Arnook said "You can then split up and fly to Umashu on Appa"
"Alright come on my ship is ready" master Pakku said and winked them.
"Goodbye chief Arnook" Aang and the others said and moved over to master Pakkus boat helping him to prepare proviant and other luggage.
"Everyone, I still need to say goodbye to someone...I'll hurry" Sokka said and ran off.
"It's princess Yue right?" Akira said smugly.
"Who else, our dear Sokka is head over heels for her" Katara smiled and stealthily glanced at Akira.
