I didn't stop running.
With a quick mental command, I summoned a grenade into my hand. The horde was still on my tail, fast and aggressive. I slowed just enough to lure them into a tighter group.
Now.
With perfect timing, I threw the grenade. It exploded midair, blasting five zombies into pieces. Blood and limbs flew everywhere.
Only 10 remained. Far behind.
I quickly reloaded my gun while still sprinting, and turned around, only to find that the remaining zombies weren't staying together.
They had split up, using the trees and terrain to their advantage. Each was trying to come at me from different angles—they were using blind spots.
I gritted my teeth, shooting one of them between the eyes before turning and running again.
This was too dangerous.
Could it be... mutated zombies already?
They weren't supposed to appear this early. Mutation-type zombies were rare—in the first wave, only one should have existed. But if one was already here...
I kept panting, forcing my legs to keep moving.
Finally, I saw the fortress up ahead. But just before I could reach the entrance, two strong zombies pounced toward me.
I summoned a sword instantly, slashing through the air. Their heads were cleanly sliced off before they could touch me.
The Fortress still have some Hp 457 but also depleting
the fortress was under attack.
From the side, at least five strong zombies were attempting to break through. I spotted Noel—her face pale, watching the whole thing unfold. The ground shook as the structure took the blows.
Thankfully, the robots were already holding their ground. They made a solid defense, but There aim and other was holding them back
Immediately, I used my points to upgrade the robots.
The moment I did, their bodies began to change, their forms shifting. As I entered the forest line, I assisted in killing the zombies while an invisible barrier activated—repelling the attacks of the Zombies.
Someone… or something, was manipulating them. It realized the barrier couldn't be broken and ordered a retreat.
But I didn't let them go.
I chased every last one down, shooting them in the head, ensuring none escaped.
Finally, it was over.
The robots, now taller—standing 5.11 feet high—were visibly different. Their bodies were sturdier, entirely made of reinforced metal. The targeting system had been enhanced too—every shot hit the zombies square in the head.
The wave of strong zombies began to rapidly decline. Their numbers fell fast.
I could finally rest.
Panting heavily, I slumped down on the wooden floor inside the fortress. I noticed the bathroom was still incomplete.
Noel came rushing in, her eyes filled with worry. "Are you alright?" she asked, kneeling beside me.
I patted her head gently, reassuring her with a soft smile. She relaxed a little.
Still… this could count as a lucky encounter.
My current points were now 31. Though they should've been 81 if I hadn't spent them on the robot upgrades.
But it was necessary.
I turned to look at one of the upgraded robots—it held an AK-47 in its hands. Slowly, the gun began to transform, shifting in shape and design.
It was no ordinary AK-47 anymore.
Sleeker. More refined. Advanced.
I gave it a quick command. "Fire at that tree."
The robot obeyed. The bullet pierced through the Tree like in my Past life it could atleast pierced through three Thick Metal Layer
I was very satisfied.
Curious, I ordered the robots—now called "Average Robots" by the system—to begin a search.
Their metal bodies gleamed under the sunlight, efficient and rust-free. Their sensors began scanning the surroundings.
Then, without warning, the robots locked onto a moving target.
Bullets flew, piercing through the trees like paper. They kept firing with precision. And then, the system sounded:
---
[Host is the first one to kill a Mutated Zombie]
Reward: one Layer breakthrough
---
Suddenly, I felt my body change.
It became lighter. My instincts sharpened. My strength more than doubled.
Excitement surged through me. 50 points were added instantly to my system.
I had underestimated these robots.
Testing my luck, I went outside to search for any scrolls. Unfortunately, I found only one. a Bronze Scroll placed it in my storage space.
Then, I headed toward the mutated zombie's corpse. It should have a silver scroll, which was incredibly valuable.
But before I could get any closer, Noel shouted behind me—
"Brother, be careful!" Her voice trembled with worry.
I turned and gave her a smile, shouting back to reassure her.
After that, I moved deeper into the forest. It was nearly nightfall. I needed to hurry.
Two strong zombies tried to sneak behind me, but with my new breakthrough, I easily took them down.
I had officially reached F-Rank.
I wasn't ordinary anymore.
When I reached the area where the robots had been shooting earlier, I saw it—the corpse of the mutated zombie, and beside it…
A silver scroll.
I grinned and stored it carefully, returning to the fortress as the sky darkened.
Noel was already eating the food I'd left her. She had prepared a simple meal for me, too.
I smiled, satisfied, and patted her head. "Good job."
She smirked, clearly proud of herself. A smug little expression formed on her lips, making me chuckle.
In my mind, I activated the two scrolls I had.

[Lottery Ability...]
["Calm Mind – Your mind will be calm in dire situations, analyzing everything easily" "Can summon Light Sword"]
---
My eyes lit up with joy.
These were powerful.
The Light Sword was especially valuable. In my past life, it helped me fight zombies far stronger than the mutated kind, even those with hardened skin.
At last, the bathroom was complete. It even had a bathtub.
Noel called out, asking me to fill the tub with water. I nodded and filled it while the robots resumed guarding the fortress.
Half an hour later, she returned—clean and wearing fresh clothes. She yawned, stretching her small frame, clearly content.
I smiled and patted her head.
Then, I cleaned the bathtub and took my own bath.
When I stepped out, I noticed something strange—my body had become leaner.
Noel noticed too. She giggled, complimenting me.
I smiled again, and before I could say anything, she suddenly hugged me and pulled me toward her tent.
"Brother, let's sleep together. It's been a while."
I nodded, enjoying her warmth and company. That night, we slept peacefully.

Meanwhile, at school...
A loud crash echoed through the lower floor.
A strong zombie had broken through the entrance.
Screams rang through the hallways, echoing off the concrete walls. Chaos unfolded in an instant.
Six students were huddled in a classroom, terrified. Among them, Saminah, usually composed and aloof, bit her finger in frustration.
She had been calling for help for a day but no response.
She was a very rich, spoiled girl, someone who could've bought a private plane if she wanted. But now, there was no news from her parents. Nothing at all.
The others sighed helplessly, trapped, hoping for rescue.
Everyone was frustrated. Everyone was scared.
Even Trish, who had been calm all this time, finally sighed helplessly at the growing danger around them.
