Chapter 19 - Ep. 5 — Sister, V

All I could do was hope that he didn't see them. I did close the bathtub curtain, so as long as he doesn't open it he shouldn't see them… right?

I got up and started pacing back and forth. As I bit my nails, hundreds of thoughts started crossing my mind… What if he wanted to take a shower before changing? What if he slips and hits the curtain down and sees the clothing? What if he decides to set his old clothing on the side of the tub and opens the curtain to place them there? What if he opens the curtain to see if there's a window in there?

My thoughts had started getting illogical, but I couldn't help myself, I was so worried that he'd see them… and how he'd react if he did.

I was pacing back and forth so much that I could swear I was digging a trench in the ground.

Suddenly he opened the door and walked out, and as he did, I accidentally chomped my finger.

"OUCH!" I crouched down and started kissing the part that was bleeding.

This was so embarrassing, but at least it doesn't look like he saw the cloths.

"Are you okay!" He quickly set his clothes on the floor and ran over to me, setting his hand on my back.

"YeAh… I'll be fine-" As I said this I looked up at him and became dazed, he looked so-

I started shaking my head vigorously, what am I thinking!

As my face reddened I quickly got up, and grabbed my clothes to change, "I'll be right back."

I closed the bathroom door and rushed to the bathtub. Luckily, it didn't look like he even touched the curtain, but it does kinda stink in here. A rotting blood smell. I sat on the edge of the tub and sighed. I felt like this was the first time that I got a moment to rest and think.

There was something bothering me, but I couldn't tell what it was. It probably had something to do with being in a new body in a completely different world. It felt like things were going by so quickly, while I still hadn't settled down.

I looked at my legs and realized that I don't think I felt any stinging since I woke up. So I slowly started unwrapping them, and to my shock, they were healed! Though, the scaring was somewhat jarring. They were just little cuts, but the scars look a bit bigger, and they're a purple colour. Did the alien heal me? It looks like the same colour my arm was when it transformed into that weapon earlier.

A thought rushed through my head. Did Yuri's scar heal? I looked around the bathroom and noticed next to the counter there was a bandage on the ground, it was the one Yuri had wrapped around his leg. His cut was so much deeper… so I'm super surprised that his healed as fast as mine.

"Oh!" I almost had forgotten that Yuri hasn't eaten anything. I quickly changed out of my dirty clothes and put the pajamas on.

As I opened the door I tossed my bandages next to the counter and apologized to Yuri for taking so long.

"Sorry for taking so long! You must be hungry…" I picked up his clothes and set them in the bathroom, at least these ones I can wash at a launderette.

I closed the door and rushed over to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and remembered all I had was just enough to make him a sandwich… which probably wouldn't taste good.

"Hey, what happened to my bag of stuff that I had bought." I turned around and looked at him as he was seated at the table.

"The what- oh uhh…" he looked away as if he was ashamed.

I slouched as my head tilted, "You ate them… didn't you?"

"W-what noooo! Of course not-" he instantly folded when he locked eyes with me.

"Yeah I did…" His head dropped and he crossed his arms.

He poutingly said, "I didn't eat the chemicals though… they tasted weird."

I quietly facepalmed… did he just say he tried to eat- never mind.

I turned around and grabbed the stuff in the fridge. Luckily, there was just enough bread to make him a sandwich. I only had two pieces of ham left… or whatever this was, so he'd have to deal with that.

I quickly made it and brought it over to him.

"Here you go! Sorry this is all I have…" I handed the sandwich to him and his face lit up.

He quickly grabbed it and started scarfing it down. He must have been as hungry as me, even though he ate the ramen I bought…

"Whoa calm down! You'll choke!"

"Hrr- sorry." he mumbled as he slowly put the rest of the sandwich down, and ripped it in half.

"Here… you're hungry too, right?"

Aww that's sweet, "Oh no, I already ate just a bit ago!" I nicely rejected and sat down.

I set my elbows on the table and laid my chin in my hands. As he ate, I couldn't help but wonder, where was the rest of his family? Why was he the only one out here trying to find his sister?

"Do you have any other siblings?"

He took a second to respond as he finished chewing, but then said, "Yeah… but my brother died, so she's the only family I have left."

My eyes widened, only family left? When did-

I moved my hands, and with one I formed a light fist as a support and placed my other hand on top.

As respectfully as I could, I asked, "When was the last time you saw your parents?"

He coughed before answering, "I- I don't remember…" He looked down and nibbled a small part of the sandwich.

"Our dad died, and I guess our mom didn't want us anymore, so we were sent to the facility."

"That's horrible!" I blurted out without thinking.

"Nah, she hated us… so at least the beginning was a lot better. It only got worse as we got older though." He finished his sandwich and got up.

"Sorry, I don't really want to talk about this."

"Wait! One more question… since I'll have to be the one looking for your sister, is there anything you can tell me about her to make it easier?" I jumped up as I said this.

"Hmm… " He stopped to think for a second as he put his hand to his chin.

"Well, her name is Kashka, Orlov Kashka."

"She also has white hair like me!" He twirled some of his hair around his finger.

"Sorry is her last name Orlov or…?"

"last name?- oh yeah our surname is Orlov."

"Okay then I just need to find a file with the name Kashka on-" before I could finish, I felt a pain and grabbed my head.

"Agh-!"

Images started flashing in my head. Everything was fuzzy, all I could hear was 'not him-' 'anything-' 'Goopy'… I wasn't sure what any of it meant, or even was, but while this happened there was something in the back of my mind that bothered me.

There was a feeling, a thought, not straight out said, but a name in the back of my mind. Kashka.
