The rain pattered in the forest as a man stared ahead on guard, because his team was at the border to Iwagakure and the rain village. His name is Kaito Himari, a Jonin of Konohagakure no Sato.
Kaito cleared his throat, getting up from his crouched position in the thicket as he entered the camp. He was a sensor ninja not that proficient, but he was a good one specializing in earth and water natures, Perfect counters for Iwa Ninjas.
He looked at his eight-man team six chunin and two Genin. As they are cooking stew, they still are tense. Though it probably equates to their other two lost members. Losing them to a direct assault caused by Iwa.
Though they drove them off the two other members died of low chakra and blood loss stopping an earth projectile with their body's. Unfortunately, they had so much life left.
But that was the grim reality of war, Kids sent to fight grown people battles. Kaito sighed at the thought as he picked up some soup with a ladle and put it in a bowl.
Kaito then started drinking, letting the hot gravy like liquid heat him up. But that was cut off when his eyes went wide as he threw the bowl into the tree line. His teammates grabbed their weapons being at the ready.
Then a rabbit scurried out of the forest as it ran scared. They put down their guard, but Kaito didn't. He knew he felt a chakra fluctuation. The one of a chunin Kaito felt around a bit more before putting back his longer than average kunai.
But that was his biggest mistake as a cry echoed out. Turning around kanreki his Genin had a kunai stabbed into his shoulder deep.
Shit shit said Kaito. They figured out that he was a sensor and is now suppressing their chakra and since he was a lesser sensor, he couldn't find their signatures. Then a giant fluctuation occurred as Kaito went through many hand signs at a fast rate.
"Āsusutairu: Doheki" He yelled as he slammed his hand on the ground. Just in time, a giant explosion rocked the barrier. But now he knew they were fried.
"Run!" He shouted as he jumped over the wall, unsheathing his kunai. Usually, they couldn't run, but this time it was different. Members of the explosion corps of Iwagakure.
His team without a second thought took off in the opposite direction as he went through hand signs again. "U~ōtāsutairu: U~ōtāburēdo" this time countless water blades formed as he sent them forward making them fall all the trees.
Then he ran towards the Explosion corps member with his kunai and water blades.

On the ground lay Kaito. He lay in his own blood semi-charred by the explosions. Covering himself in water to block the explosions worked for a bit.
Until he was punched and lost concentration. His right arm was gone blasted off his body, and a giant hole in his stomach. If his team wasn't intercepted. Then they should reach the land of fire border in a few hours.
Kaito saw the Iwa ninja get close to him, maybe trying to cut off his head to collect the bounty? He had no clue. But he did have a surprise.
Ever so slightly he released some chakra making some explosion tgs appear on the back of his head. The Iwa ninjas who were conversing did not notice until their bodies exploded.
Taking them out hopefully he thought that his team made or could make it.
One chapter a day is the schedule I should use. Unless something pops up ill stick to one chapter.
