Chapter 12 - chapter 12— arrival of the strong moon

Kura and the director continued beating the assassin, striking with all their strength at key points—like the man's head and right arm—trying to separate him from Itadaki's body and then kill him once and for all. Arold was analyzing the whole fight, especially the burn on the Miraijin's original arm. He was using the last of his energy to reason through everything with his quick analytical mind. He managed to shout to his older brother, using all his strength while gasping for air:

— "Brother, throw him out of the building, the sun will kill him!"

Arold yelled with the last of his energy before passing out temporarily. The electric boy's cry was heard by both his brother and the director, which caused a brief moment of hesitation—a small opening that allowed the immortal to vanish. This left not just Kura, but everyone around them, worried. The only exception was the director, who pulled a small orb from his pocket, similar to a crystal ball. He activated its power and managed to link it with the immortal man's vision, realizing that he was rapidly approaching again.

The tall, bald man holding the orb quickly shoved Kura out of the way, saving the boy from having his head ripped off. However, the director wasn't so lucky—his right arm was torn off in an instant. Blood and bone fragments flew through the air and hit the ground, painting it red and littering it with shards of broken bone.

The young man panicked and screamed:

— "Director Regisseur, your arm!"

Even though the director was clearly in great pain, he couldn't stop protecting young Kura from the immortal's next attack—another strike aimed at his head. Regisseur stopped it with a kick to Dtùschar's right leg, throwing him off balance and making him crash into a wall instead of Kura's skull.

— "Don't worry about my damn arm! Losing it is nothing compared to losing you. You're the only vessel this country has!"

The director shouted this while picking up his severed arm and kicking it into the air. He caught it midair and grabbed the wrist so that it would still hold his baton, using it to rain a series of brutal strikes on the head of the enemy who, from afar, looked invincible.

Kura snapped out of his shock and grabbed the immortal around the waist, launching himself at full speed into the wall, creating a massive hole. Both the young soldier and the immortal were exposed to the outside. It seemed like this might be the end of Dtùschar—his arm started to burn under the sunlight—but, unfortunately, the sun set, and nightfall saved the blonde killer from certain death.

Both men hit the ground. Kura landed with minor injuries, but had some cracked ribs and a fractured bone in his right leg. The immortal began to flee, but something strange happened—his legs were suddenly severed.

— "Hey, you idiot! Are you okay?"

The voice came from Ali, who was holding a sword. Kura nodded in response. The woman then leapt from above, crashing to the ground in a deadly fall but standing up without a scratch. The one who suffered from the impact was the immortal himself, shocking everyone present—except her brother Aki, who knew her abilities.

— "Hey morons, shoot me!"

She ordered the lower-ranked soldiers, who were her subordinates. Out of fear that she'd use her power on them, they obeyed and began firing at her with everything they had while she sprinted at full speed toward her enemy.

None of the bullets harmed her—instead, they injured the immortal. "Her power was to replicate the nervous system of someone whose blood she had taken, causing all damage to be reflected back to the original owner." This explanation came from her brother Aki, who had landed calmly on the ground. He was stretching when, out of nowhere, he fired a shot to his right. The bullet's trajectory twisted mid-air and sped toward the enemy, a trick that amazed young Kura.

— "How does your power work?!"

He asked almost instantly, exciting Aki, who was just about to explain when the villain suddenly lunged forward. He struck Ali to send her flying without hurting her too much, then charged at Aki—a move that would have killed him if the electric boy hadn't zapped the blonde and sent him flying, coughing up blood in the process.

— "Damn… I think I'm at my limit…"

Another attack came. Kura dodged it, but even the graze left him nearly unconscious. The next blow targeted Aki's head—until an explosion hit the immortal's face. Arold had just awakened to fight again. The boy now held a new sword taken from a fallen soldier, creating explosive air slashes that not only cut Dtùschar but also blew him up. The explosive youth launched himself using blasts from his feet and delivered an explosive slash to the man's chest, sending blood and internal organs flying from the massive hole.

The power and violence of the strike shocked both Aki and Ali. It was hard to believe that Arold had just been knocked out from exhaustion after blowing up nearly three floors. Dtùschar managed, with effort, to back away and begin regenerating.

"It's like this damned kid's power just increased—how the hell did he do that?!"

But Arold didn't stop. He advanced at full speed, blasting the ground to throw Dtùschar off balance, and delivered another explosive slash—this one obliterating a third of the assassin's body and launching him far away.

— "You bastard, don't even think about running from me!"

The parasite's regeneration quickly healed the fatal wound. He raised his right fist and lunged at Arold—his fingernails turned into claws, seemingly made of steel. But Arold didn't falter. His explosive blade was now infused with high-energy material that would vaporize everything within a five-meter radius upon impact.

Both the sword and the claw were descending in a clash that would kill them both. Kura was too weak to move and save his brother. Ali and Aki were too far away. Regisseur was still tending to his arm. Death seemed inevitable for Arold—until a distant voice cried out:

— "Jikū o kirisaku ha!"

Suddenly, a green light appeared between the two fighters. Neither their sword nor fist met. They were forced to retreat as the green light erased parts of their weapons—and even parts of their bodies—from existence.

The immortal began regenerating only after noticing his hand was missing. Both he and Arold thought the same thing:

"What the hell just happened?! That light erased my blade/fist from existence?!"

The light vanished, revealing that even the ground had been affected by the attack. Both combatants looked for the source of the voice—unsure whether it was friend or foe. The immortal never saw who it was—he was struck in the face by the fist of a muscular man. Trying to defend himself, he raised his arms. Meanwhile, Arold caught a glimpse of their savior—the man known as the world's greatest swordsman: Subete Katto.

The immortal managed to block part of the punch but had no time to recover—he was then kicked from above. Though he dodged, he still received a slash that made blood spurt from his body. Another blow landed on his head from the same attacker—a muscular woman with flowing hair. Her forearm cracked his skull and neck, sending him stumbling back. With a mocking tone, she said:

— "What's wrong, big guy? Surprised? Don't fall just yet—the night's still young, baby…~"

They locked eyes. The wounds on his face glimmered with small moon-like stones. He returned her glare with a threatening look.

The people who had just arrived were none other than Squad Lächeln, ready to exterminate their enemy!
