While she had masterminded at least fifteen schemes that should have earned her the death penalty, she had managed to escape without a scratch each time. Although Adrian did have a hand in guaranteeing her freedom, it would be remiss to discount Eleanora’s own power in eluding punishment. There was no doubt that her ingenious devices had been the spark behind a renaissance in Laurent’s fading magic. Eleanora’s talent was so profound that it was not a far stretch to imagine her creating life from a machine.
