"Boom!"
A fierce explosion sounded, generating a mushroom cloud. Splashing water stung their faces. Numerous Aether Foundation members, ignoring the violently fluctuating sea surface, stared intently at the point of impact, wanting to see if the person who was attacked was still alive.
"Sizzle, sizzle..."
But just then, countless bolts of lightning flashed from the explosion site. Just as those people internally screamed 'not good,' the lightning instantly struck the sea surface.
In an instant, the entire sea area lit up!
Countless currents raged violently. The Aether Foundation members who had arrived riding Water-type Pokémon were instantly affected.
The electric currents hit the Water-type Pokémon beneath them, and likewise, flowed onto their bodies through limb contact.
As the electricity flashed, the Aether Foundation members became stiff, falling into the seawater like pieces of wood with loud plop, plop sounds.
"Whoosh!"
A gust of wind swept through, dispersing the steam generated by the explosion. Ace was seen standing atop the Path Drago with his Pokémon, and a fleeting electric current still lingered on the Path Dragon's claws.
Completely unharmed, Ace looked at the Aether Foundation members, a large portion of whom were instantly taken out, and curled his lip in disdain, saying, "They're just chickens and dogs."
Looking up at the sky, the members who had survived high in the air showed no intention of retreating; instead, they released more Pokémon, filling the gaps in the encirclement as much as possible.
Some even accelerated their approach towards Ace and his Pokémon once again.
"Gengar."
Following Ace's command, Gengar rushed out. It drew a circle with its hands, and instantly, dense Shadow Balls clustered in a circle around Gengar.
With a push of Gengar's hands, the Shadow Balls shot out like lightning towards the attacking Pokémon.
"Bang, bang, bang..."
Facing Gengar's dense barrage, quite a few Pokémon were knocked down, but those remaining were extremely agile, dodging the Shadow Balls one by one and accelerating their charge towards Ace.
Seeing this, Gengar took a deep breath, a wicked smile appearing on its face, and instantly dashed out. In just a moment, it collided head-on with those Pokémon.
A Scyther launched a series of continuous slashes towards Gengar. Gengar glared suddenly at Scyther, and two lightning-like beams shot out. Night Shade hit Scyther, knocking it back, and Gengar vanished from the spot instantly.
When the other Pokémon were momentarily confused, the shadow of one of the Pokémon flared up, and a sharp claw swiped fiercely at its back from behind.
After knocking it flying, Gengar once again disappeared into the shadow.
The other Pokémon noticed this and immediately concentrated their fire on that Pokémon's shadow.
But besides hitting nothing, they didn't even touch a hair on Gengar.
Taking advantage of the momentary gap in their attack, several Shadow Balls shot out from the shadows of these Pokémon, hitting all of them and knocking them flying before they could even react.
"Finish them all. Lapras."
Lapras raised its head, aiming at the Flying-type Pokémon in the sky.
The Path Dragon felt a chill on its back, followed by a bone-chilling wind surging upwards.
"Blizzard!"
Faced with the Blizzard spewed out by Lapras, some Fire-type Pokémon immediately unleashed Flamethrower to try and block it, but the moment Flamethrower met Blizzard, the flames were gradually suppressed and quickly dissipated within the Blizzard.
The Blizzard continued unabated towards the Flying-type Pokémon. Even though the opponents desperately dodged, facing the large-area Blizzard, they were frozen stiff and tumbled from the sky into the sea.
Cosmog hid behind Ace, silently observing all this. Seeing that the numerous Aether Foundation members could not do anything against Gengar's trainer, Cosmog was sincerely relieved, simultaneously feeling that it had made the right choice.
However, even though Ace had broken the Aether Foundation's encirclement, Cosmog still felt a sense of unease in its heart.
This unease was not about the current situation, but something else entirely.
Suddenly, Cosmog raised its head and looked towards the sky; the anxiety in its heart magnified instantly.
And in the sky, a hole suddenly appeared!
Seeing this, Cosmog immediately jumped up, moved to the front of Ace, and excitedly gestured towards Ace while pointing at the sky.
Ace was startled by Cosmog's sudden action, but he immediately looked in the direction Cosmog was pointing.
And there, an Ultra Wormhole appeared, and a jet-black, monstrous-looking, beast-mouth-like claw reached out from within the Ultra Wormhole.
"That is... an Ultra Beast."
Upon seeing this, Ace felt somewhat strange. He hadn't expected an Ultra Beast to suddenly appear and interfere before his confrontation with the Aether Foundation had even concluded.
The Aether Foundation members also noticed this sight, and the fighting between the two sides gradually ceased.
In the sky, another claw reached out. Two beast-mouth-like claws bit into the sides of the Ultra Wormhole.
Then, the two claws began to exert force, and the Ultra Wormhole, which was not originally too large, began to grow wider and wider under the action of the two claws!
"That appearance... it must be Guzzlord."
Ace looked at the gradually expanding Ultra Wormhole and the black claws, instantly identifying which Ultra Beast this was.
"It's UB-05 Gluttony, level one alert!"
The Aether Foundation members also recognized the Ultra Beast and immediately abandoned their standoff with Ace, instead preparing to face the as-yet-unseen Guzzlord.
"Cosmog, can you seal the Ultra Wormhole?"
Ace asked the Cosmog beside him. Cosmog gave Ace a bitter smile. It had the ability to seal the Ultra Wormhole, but it depended on which Ultra Beast was on the other side.
Also, with its current ability, unless it evolved into Solgaleo or Lunala, sealing an Ultra Wormhole that was being violently forced open by an Ultra Beast was simply out of the question.
And at this moment, the Ultra Wormhole was completely torn open. Guzzlord's massive body plummeted from the sky, crashing heavily into the seawater and causing a huge wave.
"It's not over yet!"
Ace looked at the massive Ultra Wormhole, his eyes narrowed.
In an instant, several figures rushed out of the Ultra Wormhole, as if escaping from something, their movements extremely panicked.
Seeing the Ultra Beasts scatter, the Aether Foundation members were momentarily stunned, and then immediately divided their forces, starting to chase the fleeing Ultra Beasts without hesitation.
"It seems they don't have time to bother with us."
Looking at the Aether Foundation, who had become busy and completely ignored them, Ace chuckled lightly, then recalled his other Pokémon.
Ignoring the Ultra Beasts, Ace released Aerodactyl. Aerodactyl quickly flew in one direction with Ace.
