~~~[START]
Vlad's eyes sharply snapped open, their color unaffected by the darkness that surrounded the room he was sleeping in.
"You haunt me even in death, huh," Vlad's words could only whisper, as he sighed faintly, thinking about the traits of his predicament.
His eyes, as if in response, even in the darkness could see. Their blue light irises almost shining in the dark.
He was beautiful—truly a spectacle to behold, yet no one but the loneliness of the house could gain his sight.
A faint smile spread on his lips, as his mind processed what he had become—what he always was.
Standing up, his short figure could only be seen in blurs, as he dashed to the window.
Opening it before even its sound could break.
His eyes landing on the vast forest that opposed his view, as the moon lay on top of its trees, as if in welcome of his now gazing presence.
His teeth shined white even in the dark, as his lips smiled with greed.
Then—he leaped.
The sound of his body moving through the window couldn't even be registered by the wind.
His feet landing on the floor and their strength pushing him forward, causing him to sprint into action.
It was silent, as if even friction couldn't comprehend his presence, as if it refused to—as if sensing the power in his blood.
Trees blurred, as they witnessed the force from his sprint.
The leaves from their branches reacted with each passing second.
He was fast—perhaps too fast, because at that very moment, a loud piercing whistle made a sound, as his body caused the air to change in pressure.
With each of his steps, a tree would stand at his mercy, as if fearing the danger of losing its roots.
 It was tedious, and then
BANG!
He hit a tree, not out of the lack of vision, or out of the feel of anger, but from the eagerness to test his strength.
And the 15-foot tree of wood flew 18 meters away, and with its movements came a sound, which one would deem too terrible—perhaps too loud.
"Heheh," Vlad couldn't help but slightly laugh, as he realised what he had done.
He had just transformed 3 days ago, which only meant he didn't have the time to test his capabilities.
Stretching out his hand, Vlad focused on the 15-foot tree, which had once—now fallen, and as if by magic, its 15-foot body of wood floated, as if being controlled by his tiny fingers.
Then with their flicker, it shattered into a million unrecognisable pieces, becoming not blocks but dust.
Laughter spread from his lips, as he couldn't help but admire such a phenomenon, it was satisfying—perhaps too much.
The feeling of power—he knew how addicting it was, he remembered what Alucard had told him—he knew that he should never forget.
Closing his eyes, Vlad focused.
It took minutes, or perhaps an hour before his patience gave in, "Still can't transform yet," his words hinted a sign of disappointment, yet his smile remained, as his eyes lingered on the dust that painted the ground, reminding him of the power his hands now held—a power he was fated to inherit—a curse.
So he walked back, not running but walking, as he felt as if his actions had done enough.
Unlike in the morning when the sun was out, Vlad didn't feel in the slightest tired—this was due to the fact that he didn't need any sleep—not at all, because for now, sleep provided no type of noted benefit.
Due to his nature, the sun doesn't affect him, but it only changes the state of his mood.
He can't really explain it—and so couldn't Alucard.
But whenever the sun was out, his eyes and mood would feel slightly tired, yet no matter how much he tried to sleep, he wouldn't—he simply could not. Alucard called it a curse—a curse that compensated the power he had—the power he was given.
And now it was night, a time when the curse seemed to be nullified.
Moving to his house, Vlad leaped upward, as he entered through the window with unimpressible speeds. Then…
THUD!
It shut.
He moved, as he gained sight of the small single sofa—the one he was previously sleeping on.
"Now… how the hell do I do this," he searched through his memories, trying to find the solution to the spell that made the room so cold.
Then he found it, as his mouth slightly rose with a smile. As hidden crying sounds of his giggles rang loud.
"Looks like he killed a witch," Vlad's voice couldn't help but gain some interest.
Remembering a time when Alucard informed him that witches do actually exist.
At the time Vlad couldn't help but hold some sense of disbelief, but it seemed that his words now proved to be true.
So he raised his arms, as if in chant,
"Ice's frozen hold, I shatter now, warmth's soft whisper, let it somehow."
Then the cold instantly vanished, replaced by new air of warmth, one too comfortable for the night.
So Vlad just fixed his figure and admired the display. As he moved to the bag he had once placed on the floor and began to fix his bagged belongings.
Fixing a house he will now have to cherish, a house he will have to call his home.
BEEP BEEP BEEP!
The clock awoke Vlad's sleeping figure, as he opened his eyes with swiftness.
He didn't look tired or in a daze, but it was until his body stood up that his eyes began to narrow slightly—hinting to the disadvantages of his strength.
Moving to the bathroom, Vlad quickly took a shower, it was nice—bathing.
He didn't know why he felt like this, was it because he was in a new environment, was it because of his lack of worry, or was it simply because over the years he had taught himself the effectiveness of patience, he didn't know, but it felt 'pleasant'.
After an hour, Vlad sat, as he looked straight at the playing TV.
It had seemed that Alucard was generous enough to buy him a TV, since for some reason it gave off the feeling of seeming brand new.
But with all this kind gesture, he couldn't bring himself to leave him any money, which for Vlad only meant he had to look for an actual job, since he was currently broke.
Getting up from his sitting position, Vlad raised his phone, which he had taken out from his pocket.
Moving to the contact list, he couldn't help but sigh, as his eyes turned to the name 'Nanny McPhee' at the top—or at least the very top, since her number was the only one he had.
Vlad didn't have any friends, any family, just her.
Breathing loudly, he decided to take the chance, as he called her phone.
Brrring!
It rang for a second, until someone picked up.
"Hello, who's this," the voice of an elderly woman broke out, as it brought nothing but an awkward smile onto Vlad's lips.
"Umm… it's Vlad," it became silent for a while, and then
"Sorry who?"
"Never mind, have a nice day."
Beep!
Vlad sighed inwardly, as he hung the call up.
"I guess the spell Alucard put has faded," his awkward smile persisted, and then from the bottom of his eyes, to the shape of his lips, his expression swiftly changed.
As tears started falling—he began to cry.
Perhaps finally remembering that he was truly alone.
Hey 👋. Just wanna say, im going to write a drivers test soon so I have to study, taking a break for one week, extra chapters are in my PT so go check them out.
Twilight is a fic I have always wanted to write, and it's hard reading other fics which are just baseless and have no significance. I always feel like characters which are usually made feel bland—and I really hope my fic doesn't get to that point.
If this fic does good, I'll continue it—if it doesn't I'll possibly drop.
Im only writing this fic to improve my writing style so that I can make other fics which I find interesting. Hope you understand 💨
