Chapter 548 – Almost Dying isn't Technically a Kill
Sira huffed from her seat beside the window. Her arms were folded, her boots up on the edge of the chair, totally unbothered by the tension or the mess. "Anyway, leave her to me."
Lux's eyes narrowed. "Sira…"
"I won't kill her," she said smoothly.
Pause.
Then she added, "I mean… almost dying isn't technically a kill, right?"
Naomi coughed lightly. Mira raised her brows. Even Corvus paused in his loaf-mode on the backrest.
Lullaby gave a thumbs up like it was completely normal. "As expected of Sira."
Lux exhaled and swirled the milk again. "Yeah. Kinda. Just… don't kill her. The upper realm's audit system gets very twitchy about body counts."
"You don't need to mention that," Sira muttered. "I read the last memo."
The room shifted a little. Mira kept sipping her tea with her usual relaxed poise, while Lullaby had curled up again like a sleepy kitten on the edge of Lux's chair.
