"MAVERICK?" asked Indra, a little curious at that moment...
"Yaare.. Yaare... Hakai didn't told you anything?...Hummmmh... Mavericks....they are the unknown...they doesn't belong here...they are the independent once that live outside or used to live outside...we know about a few including you now...some are ready to work with us whereas some are not...some can be trusted while some cannot...but one thing is common about each of them....and that is ,all of them are insanely strong..even under the King's rule, they have managed to survive and adapt..." replied Kai looking straight forward.
Indra was listening carefully , he now knew how these people saw him...
The Sun slowly hid beyond the horizon and it was dark...the night sky was clear and the blanket of sparkling stars dominated the atmosphere and the cool air calmed Indra's mind...
They took a right turn towards the narrow street... Suddenly Indra was introduced to a hustle bustle of people buying and selling the local eateries...The area was filled with a warm smoky air...the colourful light from the shops made the narrow street standout from its surrounding....a pleasant smell entered inside Indra's nose...it was coming from the nearby shops...
Kai made them follow to a shop...the shop was of a wooden cart with four medium wooden wheels , the upper portion of cart was covered with white curtains...the curtains were thin, it provided a translucent appearance that allowed to see through it...beyond the curtains , wooden benches were placed for customers to sit...and...at the top it was written 'Yori's Treat ' in big red colour paint...
" Let us eat , it's on me so eat as much as you want...you both wouldn't have got something proper to eat " said Kai as he shifted the curtains and sit on the bench...
"Three plate Parathas and three cup Chai " ordered Kai to an old man standing there preparing the dish...
Indra and Hakai followed Kai and sat on the bench beside him...
On the next bench on their right a man in his twenties around 27 years old, stood up and begin to leave after handing over the money to the old man....
The man was wearing a half black plain round neck t shirt...and a plain black pant...
a leather belt around his waist and black leather shoes...
He had medium long black hairs and beautiful narrow eyes....He was wearing a round shining silvery earring over his left ear...
The thing that attracted Indra's attention was a fourteen inch short sword on his back...
The sword had a black handle and it was covered with a black sheath..
The sheath was vertically attached on his back....
" Mr. KURAI, I heard your new partner also left within a week, you should go easy on them ,you know if you cannot bond with your own partner ...how would you even manage your family...forget family you might not even find yourself a woman to marry..." said the old man to the man leaving the shop....
The man stopped, scratched his head and after a pause he replied, " Old ManYORI , I am trying my best but I don't know why they always run away...and do you really see me as a guy who would harass his partners....and as for a family...I am okay without one...I don't think I will ever fall in love... it's okay if I die doing my job"
Then the man put his hands into the pocket and slowly walked away from the shop....
" Huhhhh...that guyy...ufffffffffffff...the youngsters these days don't listen to the advice of their elders... really... we old ones have a lot of experience.... " sighed the old man...
After some time...the old man served three plates, each plate having three triangular pieces , the smell of it made Indra and Hakai more hungry, the pieces were golden brown with some small black spots here and there...after taking a close look... they both took a piece...Indra had never eaten such a dish..it was his first time eating something delicious like this after a long time....
After that the old man served them tea in three glass cups.....the tea had a bright brown colour...its smell was refreshing...Indra slowly took a sip...he immediately loved its taste...
Indra smiled as he quickly finished the Parathas and Chai...It might become his new favourite...
" Are you new here child?, I have seen you for the first time?..Did you like my special dish?..." Asked the Old man impressed by Indra's appetite...
" Yes sir, I am new here , and ..I loved these...What is it made of? I would like to make them myself..." replied Indra with a wide smile looking at the old man....
" Drop that 'Sir', you can call me an old man... everyone else call me that...
And... the Parathas...they are stuffed with of spices and finely cut potatoes...of course I will not tell which and how much spices I used ..." the old man laughed loudly
" Uhhhh...Please...." requested Indra...
" Don't worry you can come here anytime.... If you are allowed to live that is " said Kai slowly...
" Don't scare me...you ruined the moment " sighed Indra
"I just told you a possibility " said Kai...
" Let us head back, it is our medicine time ,the nurse would kill us if she saw us missing from our bed" said Hakai after finishing his plate...
"Yaare...Yaare...I wanted to talk more about other things but nurses are scary...I don't want to get scolded for taking you both outside " said Kai standing from his seat...
They all started heading back...
On their way home they stopped near a stall.....The stall was also on a movable cart....it had black curtains...Kai grabbed some coins in his hands and put his hands inside the curtains...Then he pulled out his hands....He was now holding three small white steamy buns...
" I have to leave now...take these and eat them on your way...I hope we would get a time like this once again...." said Kai as he hand over one bun to Indra and other to Hakai...
Then Kai walked away from them nearly disappearing in the crowd.....
" At first I thought he would be rude but he is a good guy..." said Indra in happiness as he took a big bite of the bun...
The Next Day :
Indra woke up.....he was covered in bandages...he and Hakai both wore their torn dress and moved out of the room...
They found Kai already waiting for them....
Kai slowly walked towards them...then..he suddenly punched tightly on Hakai's and Indra's abdomen.. knocking both of them out of consciousness....
