Two days had passed since the incident with pirates and the captain made a detour to Marine Branch that was on the way to the next town.
Carnes watched as the Marines boarded the ship from their dock, and inspected the ship.
Once they were satisfied they led the pirates off the Spirit and into the Marines Branch.
After all, having those pirates meant having more mouths to feed.
Aside from that brief detour, the Spirit made more detours on some small villages along the way to Peach Town looking for new hands to join.
The first village they came across the people were reluctant to interact but through Captain's Garnet's loud and passionate voice, some hot blooded were roused up to join.
Though the speech was good, Carnes couldn't help but it felt like it was a false deception but, 'hey what could I say to the people of this pirate world.'
'Now that he thought about it, am I getting for being on this ship,' Carnes thought as he rubbed his chin.
'Doesn't matter as long as I gather more maps, and chop down trees I'll make more money this way.
'At least until I have enough money to make my own ship and gather some hands to join.'
'Until then I should just train,'
------------------
A week had passed.
During that time, the Spirit had passed four villages recruiting enough hands to replace the fallen sailors.
Of course during the time of recruitment Carnes made sure to set a waypoint in the wilderness far from the villages.
Now Carnes was incharge of a handful of sailors directing them in cleaning the ship and fixing what needed fixing.
Carnes tried to get the recruits to train alongside him, many weren't as consistent in training as him.
Even after telling them that pirates wouldn't wait for them if they were exhausted.
Although some seemed motivated to at least get stronger so they wouldn't die, they still didn't push their limits.
By now the crew saw Carnes as someone who took training seriously so many left him to his own work.
"Hands on deck prepare to dock!" yelled the captain, as on the horizon Peach Town was growing closer.
Hand's moved as sails were pulled up.
The sailors pulled out oars slowing the Spirit speed to the dock.
While the Helmsman carefully steered the ship to land perfectly against the dock.
Once against the dock, the sailors waiting quickly moored the ship to the deck tying the knots and dropping the anchor, before putting down the plank.
"You know the drill lads unload the cargo before you go scampering off," yelled Captain Garnet.
By evening the cargo was finally unloaded as the Captain started giving everyone's portion of money they earned.
Carnes stared at the 42,000 berries he was given, 'Damn talk about chump change.'
'Definitely false promises but whatever,'
Carnes quickly made his way through town and admired the construction of the town, as most buildings seemed to be wooden with some brick building in between.
Most building's he passed aside from the brick one were all the same color, peach to pink color.
After a while he found the Blacksmith and entered the store, to see a brawn middle aged man at the counter.
Looking at the prices, Carnes felt his heart sting as even with the money given by Garnet, his savings, and the berries from the Pirate's stash, he only had around 129,176 berries.
The cheapest sword was 100,000 berries.
"Old man, how much for the raw ore?"
The old man at the counter had a frown on his face, "They're harder to make than what you think."
"Come on old man, I just need some iron ore. Just consider it indulging my curiosity."
The old man stared at Carnes before sighing, "Alright," the old man went to the back of the store and came back with a piece of iron ore, "It'll be 2000 berries, and don't try to return me a piece of scrap metal cause I'm not taking it back."
Carnes stared at the piece of iron ore before looking at the old man, "Can't I get more?"
The old man visibly turned more upset before trying to smile, "How much?" clearly think that the young man in front of him was a fool.
"Give me enough for 30,000 berries." Carnes said as placed the money on the counter.
The old man grabbing the money turned, muttering, "Blasted fool, ignorant child," the old man was upset that despite the ore being overcharged the young man still bought more.
His pride as a black smith felt insulted. Was none of his work good enough?
The old man came back with a small box of ore half way filled, "Alright. Here, take it and leave."
Carnes placed the box into his inventory right before the old man as his eyes widened, "Alright old man take care of the ores take care!"
The old man watched as Carnes left his shop, his eyes wide questioning if he had seen wrong.
Outside the shop Carnes smirks and leaves making his way to the outskirts of Peach town.
-------------------
Once at the stretch of tree could help but admire the color peachy texture of the trees in front of him.
"Now I know why the houses are the same color or so."
The inside of the trees varied in color from peach to pink.
"Well no matter, time to get to work. Beautiful or not you'll become charcoal for me."
Wasting no time, Carnes got to chopping tree after tree.
Twack!
Twack!
Twack!
"Timber!" Carnes yelled as the tree fell over.
"At this point I might as well get a red plaid shirt, and some brown overalls."
Eventually bored of chopping trees, Carnes took out his three furnaces and got to work cooking the wood into charcoal in two of them.
For the third furnace he placed some leftover charcoal as fuel, and placed a piece of iron ore on the top.
Carnes frowned as the iron ore didn't seem to change after a while, he decided to let it be for a while as he continued to chop trees.
After chopping trees forming fourteen stacks of logs as these trees were a bit taller than on the island where Red Leaf Town is.
He returned to his camp only to find the iron ore still unmelted.
"Maybe I gotta stuff more ore,"
After stuffing another two pieces of iron ore inside the furnace it started glowing, not brightly but more like a soft orange glow.
After a while the ore inside the furnace changed shape, forming into eight iron nuggets.
"Nuggets? What the hell, this is a scam!"
"Cheh," Carnes frowned as he stared at the eight iron nuggets he pulled out of the furnace, still hot to the touch.
"Maybe the iron ore of this world and minecraft are different."
"After all a block of ore in the cave is stone and iron, but when you mine it, you just get the iron part of the block."
Carnes tested it with the remaining ore he had, placing the smallest pieces into the furnace which in the end only gave him five nuggets.
While the three biggest pieces gave him an ingot and a nugget. Seeing this, Carnes couldn't help but see a discrepancy.
Despite being bigger the biggest ores only gave him five nuggets more than the smallest piece.
"It's not the size of the ore but rather the concentration of iron in them."
"Damn in the end I only ended up with four ingots and one nugget. I really wanted a full set but for now I'll settle with a sword."
Carnes crafted an iron sword, it was sharp on both sides, its hilt, pommel, and handle seemed lightly coated with iron.
The length of the blade was around the length of his arm.
"Alright no more brittle shit."
Carnes finished cooking the rest of the wood into charcoal and ended up with around thirteen stacks of charcoal.
Despite being dead of the night Carnes didn't feel any exhaustion, he couldn't help but feel that as he kept training his need for sleep diminished.
'Man these One Piece physiques are insane.' Carnes thought chalking it up to the weird physique of One Piece.
"Alright time to look for that treasure," Carnes whipped out his map and activated the waypoint on the unknown island.
Seeing the scenery change, Carnes whips out his glasses hiding dirt and sand, following the already scouted parts of the map.
After a while Carnes finally came across a tree split in the middle, in front of it inside the ground laid a chest.
Wasting no time, Carnes took off his glasses and pulled out his stone shovel smacking the ground below him in fervor.
Treasure symbols appearing in eyes, "Treasure, Treasure!"
Once close to the treasure, Carnes manually moved the surrounding enough to pull the chest up, "Damn it's quite heavy!" Carnes mutters with excitement.
With the treasure chest now up, Carnes whipped out his stone axe and proceeded to break the chest as its content spilled out.
There were rings, jewelry, gold coins, and a bunch of berries.
"Oh shit!" How the hell did an East Blue Pirate gather this?" Carnes mutters as sifted through the treasure.
"Maybe it's from another pirate and that guy simply came across the treasure map?" Carnes thought before smiling a shit eat grin, "It doesn't matter whose treasure it is, it's mine now."
Carnes separated the treasure from everything but the berries were transported into his Kamui's space vastly growing the small pile of treasure he had in the corner.
The berries notes were put into his inventory as they stacked on one another. Counting the berries alone amounted to 563,050 berries.
Carnes now had 662,226 berries to his name, "But I wonder how much does a ship of Spirit's caliber cost?"
"I'll ask later, but for now I should go back, I can always fully map this place out another time."
Carnes returns to Peach Town's Island and cleans a spot before settling for the rest of the night.
He might not be tired but some sleep wouldn't hurt.

FriesAreTooGud raised the question should someone be able to touch the MC with Haki if he goes intangible with Kamui.
I didn't really think about that far ahead.
I feel like since technique he is teleporting his body into the Kamui space he shouldn't be hit, at least with just the basic Armament Haki.
Ryu I'm not too sure if it should be able to hit since this does internal damage.
But attacks that are infused with Conquerors and armament haki should be able to hit the MC because if it didn't I feel like the MC would a bit invincible and dull if the opponents couldn't hit him.
The explanation lets just say the attack infused with Conquerors Haki interrupts intagibility causing it to fail, making the MC take the hit.
I need your thoughts and opinions.
