Suddenly, the stranger appeared right beside him. The man radiated an overwhelming presence and claimed he could save Captain George.
Not only did the stranger know Peter's name, but he had also displayed formidable powers—making Garfield's Peter deeply uneasy.
He had no idea who this man truly was or what his intentions were, so he didn't know whether to trust him.
But Peter was painfully aware of one thing: Captain George's condition was extremely critical. The man might not survive until an ambulance arrived.
This internal struggle dragged Peter into agonizing contemplation. He wanted to trust this stranger, but he also feared putting George in greater danger.
Alex Ray had already confirmed that this was indeed the Garfield version of Spider-Man—he looked exactly like the one from the movies.
As he observed the dust- and blood-covered face of Peter, Alex couldn't help but sigh. Despite the grime from the recent battle, the young man's handsomeness remained apparent.
"He really is the most handsome of the three Spider-Men… though still a touch inferior to me," Alex thought with a smirk.
Then Alex looked down at the dying Captain George. The man's eyes were already shut. If Alex acted even a moment later, he'd have to storm Hell itself to retrieve him.
He silently praised himself for bringing a Senzu Bean. Without it, there would be no saving George.
Alex could see the conflict in Peter's expression—the pain and indecision. He understood Peter's fear, but also knew that time was not a luxury they had.
Without hesitation, Alex invoked his chaos magic to freeze Garfield's Peter in place, ensuring the young man wouldn't interfere.
Then, quickly and efficiently, Alex shoved a Senzu Bean into Captain George's mouth.
Peter, eyes wide with panic, shouted, "Stop!" He struggled with everything he had, unwilling to let this mysterious figure hurt Captain George.
But no matter how much he fought, he couldn't move. Chaos magic held him firm like invisible chains.
In that moment, Peter wasn't just furious with Alex—he loathed himself for not being strong enough to save those he cared about.
He stared helplessly at Captain George, terrified that he might die any second.
But the next moment turned everything upside down.
Captain George, who had been on the brink of death, suddenly snapped his eyes open and sat up as if nothing had happened.
Peter could barely believe it.
Even Captain George was baffled, staring at Alex in shock. Who was this man?
How did he possess such a miraculous item?
Why had he chosen to save him?
What was the catch?
George turned to look at Peter, who remained immobilized. Then he raised his service weapon at Alex and said warily, "I appreciate you saving me—but how do you know Peter? I've never seen you around him before."
"Who are you? What do you want? How do you know my name?"
His instincts as a veteran cop kicked in. Even though Alex had just saved his life, everything about his sudden appearance and strange behavior screamed red flags.
After all, George had been in law enforcement for over a decade—he could sense when someone had been steeped in the criminal world.
And Alex definitely reeked of it.
Of course, George wasn't entirely wrong. Alex had lived in Hell's Kitchen—how could he not have some criminal edge?
"Come on now, I'm your savior here," Alex said with exaggerated exasperation, raising his hands in mock surrender.
Despite the gun pointed at him, Alex remained calm.
He respected Captain George—deeply. Unlike many other police officers in the Marvel Universe who showed up late or played minor roles, George had always stood firm in his principles and sense of duty.
Alex remembered watching Captain George die in his past life's memories. The scene had moved him deeply. Garfield's Peter had been so devastated—all his loved ones gone.
Still, just because Alex wasn't angry didn't mean he'd let someone aim a weapon at him.
Smiling faintly, he gently lowered Garfield's Peter beside him and then casually reached out.
Using his magnetic powers, he disassembled George's gun midair.
Peter, now able to move again, rushed to George with panic in his voice.
"Uncle! Are you really okay?"
He looked George up and down, as if still processing what had just happened.
George stared at the ruined remains of his weapon. Despite his shock, he forced himself to remain calm. "Yeah, I'm fine," he said firmly.
Hearing that, Peter finally understood the severity of the situation.
There was someone here they didn't know—a man whose identity and purpose were a complete mystery.
Peter turned to face Alex, his tone serious. "Who are you? What are you really doing here?"
Alex gave a soft smile. "You can call me Alex Ray. I'm from a parallel universe. In simple terms... I'm not from this world."
Peter and George exchanged stunned looks, disbelief plain on their faces.
This sounded like something out of a sci-fi movie.
"Are you kidding me?" George demanded, voice sharp. "Or did you just escape from a mental institution? You'd better come with me to the station for questioning."
There was deep suspicion in his voice—he wasn't buying any of it.
Peter, on the other hand, wasn't so quick to dismiss it. The miraculous medicine, the magic, the way Alex had saved George…
"Do parallel universes really exist?" Peter whispered, more to himself than anyone. "Could I… have parents in one of them?"
Alex met their incredulous gazes and said, with a cryptic smile, "You'll believe it soon enough."
George narrowed his eyes. He wasn't about to let some mystery man stall for time.
"Look," George said, pulling out a pair of handcuffs. "If I find out you're innocent, I'll personally apologize—and thank you for saving my life. But until then…"
Just as George stepped forward, ready to cuff Alex, a thin strand of webbing lashed through the air and latched onto his wrist.
Startled, George looked up and saw a red-and-blue figure swinging toward them—Spider-Man.
"What the hell are you doing, Peter?" George snapped. He naturally assumed it was the same Spider-Man.
But a second glance made him stop cold.
This wasn't the Garfield Peter he knew.
"It's not me, Mr. George," said Garfield's Peter, just as baffled. His eyes widened.
Where did this Spider-Man come from?
Could Alex Ray be telling the truth about parallel universes?
As the second Spider-Man landed nearby, both George and Peter stared in stunned silence.
This new Spider-Man looked exactly like Peter—but his suit and gear were slightly different.
"Two Spider-Men?" George muttered in disbelief.
He rubbed his eyes as if trying to wake from a dream.
Peter stared at his double and murmured, "Is that… me? From another world?"
