"So... Beatrice is my half-sister?" Sofia asked slowly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Raymond shook his head gently. "No. She's not your sister at all."
Sofia blinked. "What?"
"She was adopted," he said, his voice soft but steady. "She isn't my biological daughter. You are my only child, Sofia."
The silence that followed was stunned and heavy.
"She just found out recently," he added after a pause. "It shook her. But the truth needed to come out—especially now."
Sofia's lips parted, but no words came right away.
"You are my heir," Raymond said quietly, his gaze searching hers. "Whether you want any of this or not. But more than the name, the legacy... I hope you'll let me in. Let me be part of your life, even if just a little."
His voice cracked. "Please."
