Chapter 5: The Alien Threat
Zara's fingers flew over the hacking pad as the electronic lock clicked open. The heavy door creaked, revealing a dimly lit laboratory lined with consoles and glowing equipment.
Inside, her parents were strapped to chairs, their faces pale but determined.
"Mom! Dad!" Zara rushed forward.
Her mother's eyes sparkled with relief. "Zara… you came."
"We don't have much time," her father said quietly. "The robots aren't just stealing energy crystals — they're building a massive black tower. If they complete it, they'll control the Moon's entire power supply… and maybe even Earth."
Zara's heart raced. "We have to stop them."
Kian nodded, pulling out the EMP device. "I've been working on this. It should disable their circuits for a while."
Suddenly, the lab's alarms blared — robotic footsteps pounding down the corridor.
"They're coming!" Zara shouted.
Zara's mother reached for a small vial of glowing blue liquid. "This is a core energy crystal. It's the only thing powerful enough to shut down their machines."
Zara grabbed it carefully, tucking it into her pocket.
The door shook as robots tried to force it open. Kian activated the EMP. A pulse surged through the room, and the robots outside convulsed before collapsing in a heap of sparks.
"We've bought some time," Kian said. "But not much."
Zara looked around the lab. Broken screens flickered, showing images of the black tower rising on the far side of the Moon.
"We need to get to the core and stop the tower's construction," Zara said firmly.
Her father nodded. "I'll help you reset the power systems. The rest of you, prepare to defend the base."
Zara's mind raced — they had to fight not only for their lives but for the future of both the Moon and Earth.
As the alarms faded, a new resolve settled over her. The battle was just beginning.
