Bursting into the control room, the group found themselves surrounded by hostile robots. Sparks flew as Zara activated her wrist communicator's EMP pulse.
The robots faltered but quickly recovered, forcing Zara and Kian into a fierce fight. Kian wielded a makeshift tool like a staff, knocking drones away, while Zara used quick moves to sabotage control panels.
"Get to the core!" her father shouted.
Zara dashed forward, placing the glowing blue vial into the core's power socket. The crystal pulsed with light, sending waves of energy through the base's circuits.
Alarms blared as the black tower's construction slowed. The robots convulsed, then collapsed one by one.
"We're turning the tide!" Kian yelled.
But the base was still unstable. Lights flickered wildly, and oxygen levels dropped.
"We need to reset the defences and restore power!" Zara shouted, taking charge.
Together, they worked swiftly, coordinating repairs and fighting off the last robotic attackers.
