Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

[Damian's POV]

I felt hot, trying so hard to control myself as I could see he was struggling and I realized him.

He fell clumsily to the ground, managing to stand erect while his head was bowed. He coughs and rubs his throat.

His face glistened red as he pant softly. I could sense his fear if I killed him.

His forlorn stare, his trembling legs and I scoffed at the goosebumps on him.

I never meant that, perhaps, my fear and grief made me this wild. What if I lose the throne? Even if I felt remorseful for him, I didn't want to show it to him that I was a weak king.

My feet moved a distance away from him. I was weary, and just needed to clear my head. If it were someone else, I was certain I'd burst him open.

However, not to Adnar, I still need him. "We are going on a tour to the emerald pack" I announced not wanting to air my purpose of going there.

He bowed properly, his hassle breath, I could still hear it, his heart raced fast as he hadn't gotten over the fact.

"Your wish is my command" he responded in a low tone as he inhaled deeply.

"I'd ready the army," he added but then I prohibited him. We'd go alone. Everyone could be a spy.

My reason for going over there is to end the prolonged feud. I wouldn't be like my father. He was a vile and devious alpha, causing hate and chaos everywhere he goes.

His act made most packs hate mine. However, with his death, I intended to change things for the best, at least.

But then, there's just something I wanted to avoid, something I battle so hard not to have. I was fine without an heir but no, not when these elders are on my neck.

"Yes great alpha" he replied and then moved away.

I was left alone to ponder on what phase my life entails. The moon goddess must have abandoned me.

I clenched my fist and bashed it against the wall, so hard, I wished to bleed but I wasn't because the bruises kept healing up fast.

I f*ck*ng need an heir! I'd die at this rate. I exhaled deeply when a heinous thought crossed my mind.

What if I had Adnar impregnated one of my breeders or concubines? Not even surrogacy worked and so this idea wasn't bad.

It would be a secret between Adnar and I. The breeder or concubine would be slayed after childbirth just so her tongue wouldn't be let loose.

Languorously, I stride to the bathroom to wash off myself.

This place makes me sick and I do not want to spend any moment here. I believe if I leave, then I'd be more relaxed and think of something else.

I didn't want the maids to wash me up because I just wanted to be alone and when I was done, I rushed to put on something simple but royal.

A blue blazer and pants that matched it, my hair groom to the pack as I carried an impetuous look.

In a few minutes, I was outside the palace and pacing towards where a BMW was parked.

Adnar awaits as he opens the passenger's seat for me and I hastily get in. Once he made sure I was comfortable, he took his seat and ignited the engines for a ride.

I contemplated on how I'd approach him regarding the thought I had in mind. Besides, I almost broke his bones.

I didn't even realize we'd gone far and only realized when Adnar came to a halt and screeched.

He cusses, petrified and I gaze at him through the rearview mirror. His hands were quaking as I felt his pulse throbbing fast.

He was pathetic.

It can't be. Someone has been hit.

"What did you do Adnar!" I brawled as he quickly jumped out of the car, I followed suit, tensed.

It was a lonely path and not many eyes were around to witness the scene. Adnar ignored me as he was jittery.

I was here to make peace but then if my first day in this pack has someone dying by me, then how will this pull through?

This was just a complicated day. I haven't seen the stranger he had hit but I could see Adnar trying to feel the pulse of the victim.

It was weak and I knew the victim wouldn't suffer due to the great hit.

I folded my lips, gazing at the blood which drool on the ground. He or she must be dead.

Not until Adnar carried the victim in his hand, I realized it's a woman...her head rests lazily on his head, her dress stained with blood and her hair scattered over her face like a vein making it difficult for me to be lucid.

I was nervous as for the first time, I heard the howl of my wolf.

Adnar quickly places her in the driver's seat to lay down, he didn't ask for my permission and this wolf was a hindrance to the council meeting I'd be having.

When it comes to life, Adnar values them, just the opposite of me, he'd take this woman to the hospital and forget I was the alpha here.

He slams the door and quickly urges me to be considerate. However, I couldn't understand the cold sensation I was feeling, it felt as though a part of me was gone.

I growled at him, he was at fault, I'd ordered a ride and so he could just leave.

He apologized for the inconvenience, jumped into the car and drove.

While I was still at the spot of the accident, my eyes suddenly met with her wallet, which had a passport slip out of it.

Left for me, I would have abandoned it but then if she dies, I need to compensate her family.

Hastily, I took the passport and froze to a spot.

My heart thuds, my muscles stiffens as my eyes keep staring at the image on this paper.

I was going breathless as my wolf whimpered, his teeth bared, his tongue rubbing his muzzle as he growled inside me.

She was the one! The girl I had been looking for! No, she can't die now, not when I've got to see her after five years.
