Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

The next day, exactly as promised, the two of them departed with preparations to handle Nova's birth certificate. After waiting for two hours that felt very long at the busy population administration office filled with various complicated bureaucratic matters, finally the process of making that important document was completed with satisfactory results.

"Finally finished, thank goodness," said Hana with a relieved tone.

They now stood outside the government office building. In Hana's hand was an official white paper with government letterhead—Nova's birth certificate that they had just processed with great difficulty. Of course, all the information that Hana provided to the administrative officers earlier was false information that had been arranged very neatly and in detail to avoid unwanted suspicion.

Hana had given information that was completely inconsistent with the actual reality. She said with full confidence that Nova was an unfortunate orphan who had no living biological father or mother. Hana also claimed to be his adoptive sister, and explained in detail that she and her family had adopted Nova like their own biological family with full love and responsibility. All of that was a lie that had to be done for Nova's good and his future. Even detailed information about Nova's place and date of birth was also made up but sounded convincing with coherent data.

The experienced administrative officers had doubted and questioned that information with various detailed questions, but thanks to Hana's extraordinary ability to convince them with logical and emotional explanations, finally the document was successfully processed without significant obstacles.

"So this is the birth certificate you meant?" asked Nova while looking curiously at Hana's right hand holding that important document.

"Yes, this is the birth certificate," Hana answered while showing the official white paper with official government stamp and officer's signature clearly and legally written on it.

The two of them then walked with relieved steps toward Hana's reddish-black car parked neatly on the shady roadside. Nova sat in the front passenger seat, beside Hana who sat with upright posture in the driver's seat.

"Let's go home now. I also have to open the shop today, although it's quite late from the usual schedule," said Hana while starting the car engine. Her eyes glanced at the digital dashboard clock showing one in the afternoon—quite late to open business.

"Usually I've been open since seven in the morning, at the latest eight in the morning I'm already serving the first customers."

The journey home took place in complete silence without any conversation. Upon arriving home, Hana immediately carefully stored Nova's birth certificate in a special box made of high-quality wood, which contained other important documents such as land certificates, certificates, and various valuable documents.

After ensuring the document was stored safely and well-organized, the two of them left the house toward the shop. Hana's shop was located not too far from their house.

Arriving at the shop, Hana opened the back door of the shop, they entered the shop through the back door, and turned on the shop lights.

Nova was asked to clean the dining tables or clean the floor.

"Good afternoon!" suddenly a cheerful voice was heard from behind Nova who was cleaning the dining table.

Nova turned around calmly and saw a young girl in school uniform who had just entered the shop. It was Hanah, Lina's child who had just returned from school with her uniform still neat and school bag hanging on her shoulder.

"I thought Sister Hana wasn't opening the shop today like yesterday?" asked Hanah with a curious tone while removing her heavy school bag and placing it on the nearest chair.

Hana, who was carefully cleaning the long table inside the shop, looked toward Hanah.

"Yes, Sister was indeed late opening today because this morning I had to go to an important place," Hana answered while continuing her work.

"Did you just come home from school, Hanah?" Hana asked again, although the answer was quite clear from the school uniform still worn by the little girl.

"Yes, I just came home from school," Hanah answered with a cheerful smile. Her eyes then shifted to look at Nova curiously. "By the way, I want to ask something, where do you go to school, Nova?"

"School...?! Unfortunately I don't go to school anywhere. Sister Hana teaches me to read and various other things directly," he answered.

"Ooh, I understand now," Hanah nodded.

"By the way, Sister, there's something important that Mom wants to talk about this afternoon. This afternoon Mom will come here to discuss that matter," said Hanah.

*Something important? What could that be?* thought Hana.

"By the way, Hanah wants Chocolate Ice as usual, is that okay, Sister?"

"Uhm, go take a bath at home until you're clean first, then Sister will make your favorite ice," Hana answered.

"Yay! I love Sister Hana!" Hanah exclaimed with joy, after that she ran out of the shop and headed to her house to immediately take a bath and come back again.
