Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

*SWOOSH!*

In a very quick blink of an eye, Nova was already right in front of the giant creature in a perfect position to attack. His speed was truly unreasonable—even he himself didn't know how he could move as fast as lightning like that. The black sword in his hand moved with very perfect movements and sliced through the air.

*SLASH!*

The sword cut the giant creature's arm as if cutting tender beef on a cutting board. There was no resistance at all from the creature. Thick black blood with a pungent smell spurted in all directions, soaking Nova's white mask until blood drops flowed slowly.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!"

The creature's scream of pain thundered with an ear-splitting sound throughout the disgusting flesh room, making the eyes on the walls tremble with fear and begin closing one by one. The creature retreated with panicked movements while holding its cleanly severed arm, black blood continuing to gush like a waterfall.

Nova stood still in place with an upright posture, staring at the suffering creature with empty and cold gazes from behind his white mask. Strangely, he didn't feel shocked or horrified seeing the blood flowing profusely. Instead, there was something in his chest that felt... satisfied and satisfying?

His body moved on its own with natural movements, as if controlled by primitive and dangerous instincts that he had never realized existed all this time. Every cell in his body screamed with a strong desire to destroy, to kill the creature in front of him until nothing remained.

*I feel very strange now? Why do I feel happy seeing that creature in pain?* thought Nova with confused feelings.

The giant creature stared at him with eyes filled with deep fear and disbelief.

"Wh-what are you? Why did you suddenly become so strong and terrifying like this... who are you really?"

"Uhh..." Nova paused for a moment with a confused expression, staring at the sword still dripping black blood in his hand. Somehow, the fear that had previously made him completely paralyzed had now vanished without a trace. What remained was only strange emptiness and hollow feelings in his chest.

As if detecting Nova's weakness and confusion, the disgusting flesh room began producing small terrifying creatures from its walls. Dozens of disgusting figures with distorted and frightening faces emerged from every corner of the room, all staring at Nova with hungry and bloodthirsty gazes.

Nova raised his sword.

"You ask who I am? I don't know who I am, where I came from and originated. I Am Nova, that is the name given by someone. In other words, I am now Nova, that is my name and my current self."

*SLASH!*

One simple but very powerful horizontal slash, the effect was truly extraordinary and amazing. The entire room seemed to be cut into two equal parts. Those creatures were destroyed in an instant without being able to resist, and the reality around him began to crack like glass hit hard.

"Uhh..."

Nova opened his eyes. His breathing was still irregular and panting, cold sweat dampened his forehead until it felt sticky.

"What... was that? What actually happened?" he murmured while sitting up in his bed.

"Was that just an ordinary dream? And why can't I remember clearly what happened in that strange dream?"

Nova looked toward the wall clock hanging in the corner of the room.

"6:45 AM..." he murmured while wiping his face still wet with sweat.

His eyes then shifted to his side, where Hanah's small figure was sleeping very soundly and peacefully. The little girl slept curled up like an adorable cat, with a very peaceful facial expression that looked very innocent.

"She's sleeping very peacefully, isn't she? It seems she didn't experience nightmares like I did, but what dream did I go through? Why can't I remember clearly?"

Not wanting to wake Hanah who was still fast asleep and looked very comfortable, Nova got up from bed with slow and careful movements. He walked toward the stairs and went down to the lower floor.

The sound of television immediately greeted his ears clearly as soon as his feet stepped on the ground floor. The morning news program was airing with quite loud volume, indicating that someone had woken up earlier than him and was watching.

Nova walked toward the kitchen with relaxed steps, and there he saw a woman with long black hair busy with cooking activities in front of the lit stove.

"Ah, Nova!" Hana looked toward Nova.

"You woke up very early today."

"I also don't know why I could wake up early like this. What are you cooking, Sister?" Nova asked with a curious tone while approaching the kitchen area with slow steps.

"I'm making nutritious breakfast for Hanah and also her lunch box for school later," Hana answered with a friendly tone while flipping the golden yellow omelet in the pan.

"By the way, why did Hanah sleep in the same room as you last night? What happened?"

"I don't know, I don't really understand either," Nova shrugged. "She came to my room herself and asked to sleep with me, so I just allowed it because I felt sorry for her."

"Ooh..." Hana nodded with an expression showing understanding while smiling warmly.

"I can guess what actually happened last night. Hanah must have come to your room with an anxious face, and she wanted to be accompanied to the bathroom because she was scared, right? After that she said she wanted to sleep with you because she was still frightened. Is my guess wrong?"

Nova paused for a moment with a surprised expression, somewhat disbelieving the accuracy of his sister's very accurate guess.

"Wow... you're really amazing, Sister. Your guess is all correct."

"Haha, that's natural and predictable," Hana laughed softly with a melodious voice while starting to cut potatoes with a sharp knife for breakfast.
