Nora picked this place partly because it had been open for over a decade, with materials and craftsmanship she could trust, and partly because the owner was a familiar face. She often came here to eat.
At nightfall, there were quite a few customers in the restaurant. Nora went to the second floor and was led into a private room she frequently visited.
The window in the room faced the street, a sliding window, open wide. The night breeze, with a hint of chill, seeped in, not cold, but somewhat comfortable. The noise from the street, the honking, sparsely reached her ears without seeming annoying.
