Instead of seeing his amazement and praise, she received a few rather gloomy words. Nora Scott was puzzled for a moment, squeezed her phone, put it in her pocket, and then walked over slowly.
As she got closer, Pedro Langley's eyes grew deeper, with emotions surging in their depths.
When she was just one step away, Pedro suddenly reached out, grabbing Nora's wrist and pulling her in front of him, hugging her in his arms with a smooth move.

"Who are you trying to scare to death?"
Nora was caught off guard. The bones in her wrist ached intensely as she opened her mouth to make a sound, only to hear Pedro's low reprimand, deep and hoarse, full of anger.

Startled, Nora slightly raised her head.
