Crisses are weird there could be 100 on a single day live broadcasted and yet the second one happened to you and everything goes dark.
It was her second day at school and she was on the courtyard because her lesson got cancelled.
When a shadowy figure suddenly appeared on the headquarters of the andventurer guild, it had 4 dark hyenas as legs,1 meter and 10 centimetres tall and looked like a fat old man with the head of a baby in its hand was a dark staff with 4 rings attached at its head. Its mission simple destroy the building in front of it or die trying. Stil it wasn't an easy mission the monster in question wasn't particularly strong and even though it could summon an infinite number of minions they weren't strong.
So it came here with a plan instead of attacking head on it would use the ability to summon its minions to the whole town, thats why it spend the last week gauging the citizens of this town to see who was a thread, and now by lifting it's stuff everyone who it deemed worthy would get unpleasant surprise. Thoud!!
Thousands of shadowy nightmare creatures got summoned all across the small town, the way they got summoned was always the same a smal black portal would appear and they would manifest through it, thankfully for the monster it didn't have to be in direct contact or know the location in other words everywhere on the town where someone with at least a ink of strength was including underground saw the same think.
The summons in question assuming one had such information could be rated depending on their height at their base value they started from 25-35 centimetres tall and the taller they where the strongest they got. Still the monster spend one week building a small elite group of 40 cm monsters to summon to the building. As for the rest it didn't care as long they did their job and occupied the strong humans across the town.
That's why when Ellionore casualy watched the 5 junior high schoolers easily getting beaten by their stern teacher, a shadowy nightmare appeared in the middle of the courtyard. It was 15 cm tall and looked like a dark hyena but a bit more on the monster side and had 4 shadow tentacles on either side of it. In the place it appeared small kids around her age happily played with the ball until SNAP!! the shadowy snaped to action as soon as it appeared eating the head of a small boy the rest shocked relled back but it didn't matter the monster ussed 2 of its tentacles one for each child and pieced their hearts then it bringed them closer and snaped their heads from their necks and then casually throwed them aside being done with them.
In that day Ellionore learnt how the body looks without a head what colour blood was and how it flowed from the body seemengly endlessly, she also learned what true terror looks like and how people look and feel when they are terrified. Needless to say she to was anchored in place unable to move.
The monster uncaring for the terror it caused tried to keep eating everything in its path its next meal was a small boy who was to slow to try and run not that it would matter, but when it tried to pierce the legs with its tentacles the teacher Jack got in its way easily parrying the attack with his wooden sword. EVERYONE RUN!! still he didn't get to push the boy away because right in front of him the monster changed or to be more precise it got taller now 18 cm tall it looked more confident that's why it immediately attacked.
The teacher got pushed back the strength of its tentacles where no joke without a proper stance he would have no chance to parry them. Still when he got ready the monster felling his aura and realising it was outmatched maked a desperate attack throwing its hole body at the pesky human still the teacher easily countered the charge and slashed the monster away at the stands. The monster looked really hurt and almost immediately dark bubbles appeared on top of it and it dissolved in to nothing, everyone thought the monster died but their hope died instantly where they heard the voice of a girl behind the stands. SNAP!! HELPPP!! ITS GOING TO EAT ME!!
Of course it was a shadowy creature even though its existence was that of the most lowly of shadow minions destined to never achieve anything it still was a far relative to shadows therefore it could become a shadow even though temporarily. The head of a boy got in its belly while a girl screamed for help still it didn't stop, the second it feasted the boy it charged straight to her she wasn't even a challenge it used two of its tentacles to put her in place before snaping her head out of her neck. The teacher charged straight to there on his way he discarded his wooden sword and drawn his trusted silver sword holding it with both of his hands hoping to at least save a life when he got there both where dead in his anger he charged straight ready for the kill.

The monster didn't expect the human to reach it so quickly and got hit losing at least 5 cm out of its body still even though it pained the monster didn't make a sound not that it could. After jumping back it unleashed 2 of it's tentacles to the human but he parried both of them still in this closed up space he didn't have a lot of room for manoeuvrability being forced to sit at place.
Even at that disadvantage he quickly became the favourite his years of training balancing the scales. The monster realising that quickly came with a plan once again it shoted its 2 tentacles at him but when he parried them instead of pulling them back it pierced the ground and using them as a lever and temporary shrinking its form (its width not height) it charged with all its strength at him when they collided in let its form reattach pushing the human back. Normally such attack would do nothing but they where in-between the stands and the protective barrier therefore when the human fall down and his body uncontrollably rolled naturaly he twisted his hands and body bringing him immence pain.
The monster approached the man or at least tried to even though the human was crawling and in pain he emitted danger, the creature was cowardly in nature and therefore decided to leave him be, there were plenty of free food anyways. Dissolving in shadows it appeared on the slowest running children 2 unfortunate boys meeted the merciless shadowy and immediately got their body pierced SNAP!! Still it wasn't done hiding behind some bushes where 3 girls relising its tentacles and deforming them so it could drag them it violently dragged them towards it self a worthy feast, right now the creature got a growth spurt and from the original 15 it got to 20 cm.
Phehe if it keeps going like that this swadowy will reach the mighty 50 cm and then it will be unstoppable. Scanning the courtyard it didn't find anyone in close proximity its eyesight worked only based on food when it looked at the humans it just saw a white star the bigger it was the strongest the human and the better the feast. Still it found 4 junior high kids at the middle of the courtyard trying and failing to keep their composure, grinning the creature charged at its next meal.
But once again it got stopped by the same silver sword. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING GO INSIDE!!
Still he didn't get to pay more attention at them the creature charged immediately, still even though he was damaged and in pain the creature was no match for him recklessly attacking with no regard to defence the teacher found many openings cutting shadow flesh, the creature was lozing centimetres at a appealing rate reaching down at 10 cm that's when a boy got confident and charged at it slashing it with his sword the creature barely registered the hit even though it lost height, still it spawned one extra tentacle and tried to kill the boy.
Nick noooo!!! the teacher left down his guard trying to warn the child but the creature was relentless for it all openings where openings and not realising how open his opponent was it played it save and pierced his left knee. Ahhh got dammit the teacher kneeled unable to keep going while the kid got pierced at his chest the creature realising it's chance immediately charged at eate the head. Gluble
But still the teacher was not dead and he protected the other 3 kids the creature scared for its live retreated and searched for its next victim now that it got back to 11 cm its vision showed a lot more. Still at the right side of the courtyard it found a lone girl and immediately charged at her. That girl was Ellionore.
