Chapter 334 - C334 : Heroes' Acknowledgement

In an impressive display of raw speed, channeled with the experience of a thousand years, Albert ran, chasing the path of destruction a certain ball of roaming death was causing. He saw the path ended at the ocean, he continued running along the water's surface, ensuring he was still following the path by checking the surprisingly still molten rock on the ocean's floor.

Damn they're fast! I need to change it up.

He thought to himself as he expanded his senses to the utmost he could manage.

Shit, They're out of my range? Surely not, no… there they are… I missed them out of fear?

He grimaced at his own internal conflict, angry at himself for being afraid despite what he must do.

I have to be the one to do it. I have to be the one to rescue her. I lived for you… I fought for you… I died for you… I will push fear away once more, as I did all those times before… I became a god for you… I'm coming to free you… Just hold on a little bit longer, my love, my wife, Aria.

Albert turned, and burst forward, cutting across the planet to reach the roaming ball of death faster. His gaze stern, his eyes filled with determination… The kind befitting that of an ancient hero.

The roaming ball of death had finally come to a stop from its initial roaming around the world, their trail obvious and full of utter chaos…

The one eyed black dragon chomped on Shurry's body, wriggling and writhing its neck, lifting, and slamming Shurry into the ground.

Shurry didn't yelp, or even wince, he snarled as he opened up 8 massive gouges in the dragon's neck, freeing him from its maw.

Not wasting a single moment, Shurry chomped down on the dragon's tail and proceeded to return the swinging slam with all the ferocity of a puppy with a brand new chew toy… One they really wanted to break-in.

Eventually Shurry grew tired, he was already bleeding out, lost chunks of his body along the way, and had been expending mind to support everyone else's fight for the duration of his own fight. Of course, he was able to repair his damaged body with magic, but just like before blood was not easy to replace.

The one eyed black dragon lay there alive, as its tail had been torn off from the brutal display of power. It wasn't dead, just incredibly dazed, and trying to figure out how the hell it was losing, along with something else, though Shurry couldn't see it, nor sense it.

Instead, Shurry ate the dragon's tail chomping down, as it was quite a bit of meat, and he was ungodly hungry at the moment. He could scarcely move, but he wasn't going to show it for the sake of everyone else out there, he couldn't do it. Albert finally caught up with them, he was sweating making it very easy for Shurry to notice him.

"Wow, you've done a number to it already."

"Yeah… I guess it must look that way." Shurry replied with a casual tone. "We've both just lost too much blood to really keep fighting. A victory has yet to truly be decided."

"Even with a scene like this?"

"Precisely because of this. I can hardly move, ya know. I'm exhausted."

"But you're not down for the count are ya?"

"Heh, not even close."

"Figures. Drink this thing, the medical team I got it from labeled it as a blood replacement potion or something like that."

Shurry transformed to his humanoid form for a moment, shrinking down from his mountain sized wolf body back to normal was not a fun experience. He popped open the potion, and made a yacking sound, paired with a disgusted face.

"That bad huh?"

"Ugh, terrible! I'm gonna need five meat mountains to get that flavor off my tongue. Yuck!" Shurry said with a shiver. "Thanks for bringing it."

"Well, I figured you'd need it."

"Huh?"

Albert made a simple gesture behind him with a thumb pointing out the devastation resulting from Shurry's battle so far. Shurry let out a nervous chuckle, scratching his head.

"Yeah, it's bad, but it could have been so much worse. Both of us fought knowing it. Neither of us were going all out. I'm actually scared to do it for some reason."

"Scared you might destroy the world?"

Shurry made a gesture with his hand indicating a small measurement. "Perhaps a little bit." He chuckled.

"Good, cause from what I can see, you definitely have the ability, even if it would take a little effort."

"Anyways, that overgrown lizard will start moving again soon. If you want to get Aria out of there, be my guest. I'll keep it from resisting."

"D-did you hold back from pulling her out just for me?"

"Maybe a little bit. I just had a feeling you'd want to do it with your own hands."

"Why's that?" Albert smirked, drawing his blade for the first time in over 1000 years, in the lower world. He slowly took a few steps.

"Because if it were any of my wives, I'd want to do it myself too." Shurry chuckled, doing a few stretches, taking stock of his body's condition. "Just free her and get out of here, quickly. Luna will help you safely release Aria from the crystal."

"Why's that?"

"Because, once you pull Aria out, I'm gonna have my work cut out for me." He said, cracking his joints.

Albert, still being new to it, took a few seconds then realized… The fight he saw earlier wasn't much at by comparison to what's going to happen next. At least, that's what he thought. Albert held up a closed fist to Shurry, wearing a smirk…

Shurry looked at it, then with a light chuckle, he smirked too, and returned the fist, bumping them. To the two of them, this was merely a simple sign of trust between fellow heroes.

To the people watching the scene through the numerous mirrors, it was a symbol, the hero of old had just returned a god, and could be said to be a god of heroes… He, just, acknowledged, Shurry… The Origin Wolf.

Needless to say, the people in Orario, the city of heroes… Went absolutely crazy with cheer at such a sign of respect.
