Elsewhere in the city, once again a younger werewolf was attacked by the likes of some desperate kidnappers, however, this time around there were more, and stronger assailants.
"Haha, that's a good look you got there girlie."
This is a hopeless fight. That guy there has a falna, even with the invigorating feeling I'm getting as the moon draws near… It's still not full tonight but it's enough to cause a primal feeling. I can't win this fight, but I can win.
The kidnappers eyed the girl with a truly sickening intensity, their thoughts written clearly on their faces. The girl scanned her surroundings, her eyes catching something good. A plan formed in her head, and then, she made her move.
Even if they have a falna, it's still no easy feat to keep up with a werewolf!
She, the girl, blitzed right by the kidnappers, reaching out, and yanked hard on something, managing to pull it away from the man's belt. She didn't stop running, diving and ducking through the alleyways, running through the windings and weavings of oddly made roads until she had shook her pursuers off her tail. After which she immediately returned to the place she currently called home, a poor orphanage… Well, it was more like a small group of children being looked after by an old and dying woman.
"Hey, look everyone, Neze is back!"
"Welcome home Neze!"
"Dear, it's dangerous going out there… What's this you have?" The old woman asked, looking at the wounds on the girl's face and arms.
Neze thought she was talking about the pouch… "It's money I took from the kidnappers. They were really out in full force today. I took care of two groups, but the third one had someone with a falna."
"I don't mean that-"
"With this we can buy some food for everyone, freshly cooked food too!"
"Big sister is the bestest!"
This was a gathering place for those who'd lost everything at incredibly young ages. Yet, whenever a child reached the age of 10 they would leave, and soon forget about the place… Everyone there knew that, once someone leaves out those doors, they might never come back.
…
Elsewhere, another werewolf, this time with red hair groaned. She sat in a rather uncomfortable looking chair, and was constantly pulling at the annoying uniform she was wearing. Her stomach grumbled a little bit, and she lost focus dropping her head down to the desk's top.
"I'm so hungry!!!! Why'd they have to finish everything they had?! UGH!!"
"Rose, stop complaining and help process those papers. Oh, and I'll be looking them over for any mistakes, and each mistake is going to cost you 5 minutes of overtime."
"But I'm so hungry!!"
"Then do it right the first time around!!!!!"
I just wanted a few more of those specialty steaks. She teared up. "I'm going to make him pay me back for this hunger! He's going to owe me big time."
Other guild members murmured to themselves about the girl talking about a boy… Rumors instantly began spreading among the staff. Though, it was all joking of course…
…
In the Hathor familia, the day progressed like normal, with the exception of one small part… Shurry, he was only given a single normal plate of food this time, and once he was done, he spent a few moments salivating over the smells wafting over from the kitchen. But, he couldn't do it. It was time to hold back for the hunt ahead.
And, after a painfully long time without enormous amounts of food, the time for the hunt came, Shurry already looked rather fierce with his hunger having all but taken over by the time Lyca had arrived to pick him up.
"Pfft, good, that's the right look in your eyes there." Lyca smirked, and showed the pass for them to leave the city walls. "This is what will let us through the gate without being stopped. We should get going quickly, once the moon rises the hunt begins."
"Hunt, prey, must, eat." Shurry could hardly think about anything else.
The two left, and arrived at the gate, they were seen by a couple of other werewolves, one was bold enough to run up…
"Miss, are you Lyca? From the Hera familia?" She excitedly asked, eyes beaming with the look that one gives one's idol. "My name is Neze, and I'm a huge fan!!!"
"A fan? For me? That's so sweet, the other ladies will be so jealous!" Lyca laughed
"Aunty Lyca, hunt, prey, eat, hungry." Shurry uttered completely single mindedly, quelling his mighty hunger. And just as he was warning, his stomach growled with a mighty roar, once again making sound like a stampede of monsters…
"Don't worry, you'll get your prey, but I have to stop and say hi to my fans. My familia would lose face otherwise. Besides, I can't turn down such a brave girl's action."
"Hunt, now… Very hungry!"
"You're going hunting!"
"Yes! Have you been before?"
"My parents died before I was old enough to hunt in the woods."
Shurry's expression changed slightly.
"Come with us, I'm teaching my nephew all about what it means to be a werewolf. You can come too, a special treat just for my young fans."
"REALLY!"
"Yep, there's ample prey in the forest, I doubt even this guy could eat them all."
And so just like that, the party of two, became a party of three. However, when they showed the passes, the guard looked at it…
"This is for two people…" He started trying to refuse passage. However…
"Let them go on through already. That boy's stomach sounds like a monster stampede, let him go take care of that."
With that the three of them, Lyca, Neze, and Shurry passed through the gate. It was also at this time that the other werewolf who'd caught sight of them happened to realize what just happened.
"No! I missed my chance…" Wait a minute… Isn't Lyca from the Hera familia? That means, I can find him if I find her.
A guard looked over and whispered something about the girl they saw, to another guard, then pointed to the boy out in the distance. And then they both chuckled warmly as they went back to their jobs.
