Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Reencountering the Rival in Love

"You can wait outside. It's not convenient for the doctor to examine here," Aurelia Shaw said.

Mason Nightshade didn't move, his deep black eyes fixed intently on her. After a moment, he withdrew his hand, put it in his trouser pocket, and turned to leave.

Hearing the "click" sound of the door closing, Aurelia let out a heavy breath.

She couldn't let Mason know about her reincarnation.

The Shaw Family's bankruptcy, and the death of her parents, were likely all orchestrated by him, and there might be many more things she was unaware of.

Until she figured these things out, if he discovered that she knew his conspiracies and plans in advance, given Mason Nightshade's style and methods, she couldn't be sure he wouldn't take action against her.

Thinking of this, a deep bitterness welled up in her heart.

When did things between them become like this? Truly, fate plays tricks, anything is possible. The man she once loved the most had suddenly turned into an enemy. Is there anything more absurd than this?

The doctor checked her over and found nothing, offered a few words of advice, and then left.

Shortly after, there was a knock on the door.

Someone pushed the door open and came in.

Aurelia instinctively looked over. When she saw the strikingly beautiful figure entering, a trace of scarlet hatred flashed in her eyes, capturing the other like a wolf.

Eleanor Spencer was startled by that gaze. But upon looking again, nothing was there; was it an illusion?

"Isabel, why are you here?" Aurelia warmly invited her over. Her beautiful eyes curved, shining like the gentle sunshine outside the window.

Eleanor Spencer was momentarily stunned. Upon sudden realization, her face immediately showed a gentle concern, putting down her makeup bag as she walked over, looking at Aurelia's injured leg and bruised face with distress, "How did you get hurt so badly? Will the wound on your head leave a scar?"

Aurelia cared most about her appearance; even for a pimple, she would personally visit the hospital for a specialist.

In her previous life, Eleanor Spencer exploited this, persuading her to buy a lot of unsuitable and useless skin care products. Before 30, her face began to age, develop spots, and get ulcerated. Then, persuaded by her again, she bought more skin care products, making her skin worse, almost ruining her looks.

Knowing it was just another of Eleanor's old tricks, Aurelia smiled slightly, touching the bandage on her forehead, "Even if it leaves a scar, it's fine. With such advanced medical technology now, using cosmetic suture techniques won't leave any scars."

Eleanor's face twisted for a moment, unwilling to give up, she said, "Even with advanced medical skills, for us actors, the worst thing is to be associated with cosmetic surgery. If the media finds out about your head surgery..."

"Scar repair and cosmetic surgery are two different things." At that moment, a calm and stern voice came through, and a young doctor in a white coat walked over, sternly correcting Eleanor, "Scar excision fenestration and dermabrasion are common surgical methods for treating scars. Miss, if you don't know, I suggest you look up some information online, or read more medical books. Don't speak recklessly."

Eleanor's face turned blue and purple, wishing she could dig a hole and bury herself.

This little doctor is really impressive. Aurelia's eyes lightly lifted, her lips curved into a shallow arc.

The nurses whispered among themselves, seemingly recognizing Eleanor Spencer's identity, pointing at her and discussing softly.
