The three of them came out of the neighborhood and got into the car. Zhou Chengchen and Xiao Rou sat in the back seat while in the front, Zhou Qi handed over two bottles of water and a pack of tissues.
Xiao Rou no longer had tears on her face, but her eyes were swollen and red, looking ugly yet utterly pitiable.
"Little Rou'er, shall we go have a drink?"
Zhou Chengchen was never good at comforting people; she couldn't before, and she still can't now.
Looking at Xiao Rou's sad expression, she suddenly blurted out this sentence.
In the front seat, Zhou Qi immediately looked at her through the rear-view mirror, but Xiao Rou calmly raised her head, smiled at Zhou Chengchen, and said, "Drowning sorrows in drink? No need, Cheng Chen, I'm fine."
After pausing a moment, she spoke again, "Cheng Chen, can you put me up for a day? I'm afraid my parents will worry if I go home like this."
"Sure, no problem."
