Kakashi looked at the portal that still poured endless Chitauri into the sky. The blue circle never shrank. It never slowed. More aliens came every second.
He sighed inside the complete Susanoo. "Why is Kamar-Taj not interfering? I understand they only handle magical threats, but an alien invasion of Earth should count. If I asked the Ancient One, she would just smile and say 'time will tell'. Annoying woman."
'Hmm, Should I just go to the other side of the portal?'
He had two choices. He could keep fighting outside the portal and try to contain the army in the city, or he could fly straight through and fight on the other side.
The second idea was tempting. If he destroyed whever was sending the Chitauri to Earth, the invasion would stop immediately. But he would be completely alone. No backup. No way for the team to reach him if they needed help. He decided to stay on Earth for now.
His chakra was down to dangerous levels. The perfect Susanoo, the giant Kamui shuriken, the lightning sword, and twenty strong earth clones had taken a heavy toll. He needed something that could stop thousands of enemies at once without wasting more chakra on individual attacks.
He focused on the two new Mangekyō abilities that had awakened when the Mind Stone energy fused with his Sharingan.
The first was Tsukuyomi. He had already used it on Enchantress. It was the ultimate genjutsu, a world of endless torture controlled by his will. Perfect against a single strong mind. Useless against the Chitauri.
Asgardians had explained him that they worked like a hive mind, and half their bodies were mechanical. Genjutsu needed a living brain with chakra pathways. These creatures had neither.
He had slashed another leviathan in half with his remaining chakra sword while thinking. Now he turned his attention to the second ability.
When the Mind Stone energy had filled the divine essence of the Shinto Gods, it had acted like a replacement. It was not perfect.
To his shock, the other ability was different from Tsukuyomi and realised that it was from another Shinto god all together.
It seemed like mind stone was powerful enough to substitute essense for two of Shinto Gods. He quickly realised that he had only gotten one ability of each god and to get the other ability of them, he would have to absorb the essense of the said god instead of substituting it.
The other ability seemed to be from Amaterasu, the Shinto Goddess of fire.
He had expected the second ability to be Amaterasu, the famous black flames that burned forever similar to Itachk. But when he focused, something else appeared in his mind.
A completely new technique.
A name formed on his tongue.
"Ōhirume."
A black orb the size of a large beach ball appeared beside the Susanoo's shoulder. It floated silently, perfectly round, darker than the deepest night. Kakashi felt the pull of gravity inside it, like staring into a hole that led to nothing.
He threw the orb downward. It fell slowly at first, then faster, until it hovered fifty metres below the portal, right above the street.
The effect was instant.
Every Chitauri in Kakashi's line of sight suddenly jerked toward the orb. Soldiers on flying chariots lost control. Entire squads were ripped from the sky. Leviathans twisted in the air as the invisible force dragged them down. They crashed into each other, metal screeching, bodies crushing together in a growing mountain of alien flesh and armour.
The Chitauri fired desperately at the black sphere. Blue energy blasts, plasma bolts, everything disappeared into the darkness without a sound. The orb swallowed their attacks like they were nothing.
Tony Stark had been flying nearby, shooting missiles at a leviathan. He stopped in mid-air. His mask flipped open. His face went completely pale.
"Alright. I have seen unreal things today. But what the fucking fuck. Did that guy just make a black hole? In the middle of New York? We are so doomed. Earth is toast. Goodbye cruel world."
He started breathing fast, eyes wide.
Jarvis spoke calmly inside the suit. "Calm down, sir. Look carefully. The gravitational pull is only affecting the Chitauri. Buildings are not moving. We are not moving. The other Avengers are safe."
Tony blinked several times. He looked again. A taxi sat untouched ten metres from the growing pile of crushed aliens. A hot dog stand rolled past on its wheels, completely normal. Captain America stood on a car, shield up, staring in shock, but he was not being pulled.
Tony's voice came out high and squeaky. "Is that a selective black hole? How does that even work? Did he just invent physics? Who looked at gravity and said 'yeah, but only on Tuesdays and only on aliens'?"
Down on the street, Captain America watched hundreds of Chitauri soldiers get dragged into the sky and crushed together. Their screams mixed with the sound of metal breaking.
He shook his head slowly. "I fought Nazis. I fought Hydra. I thought that was the worst mankind could do. But this… this is something else."
Tony flew lower, still talking to himself. "Jarvis, record everything. I want full footage. I need to study this for the rest of my life. Selective black holes. I'm either going to marry this guy or build a suit that does the same thing."
Kakashi watched the black orb calmly. He spoke to himself inside the Susanoo.
"So the sphere creates gravity far beyond its size. I can control exactly what it pulls and what it ignores. Living beings, machines, energy attacks. I decide. It is like Pain's ability to attract objects, but much bigger and completely under my command."
The portal still poured enemies, but now they had no chance to spread. The moment they exited, the black orb caught them and crushed them into a growing mountain of broken bodies and metal.
Kakashi closed his visible eye and focused. The orb pulsed once, stronger. Another wave of Chitauri vanished into the gravity well.
He smiled under the mask.
