Chapter 1 - Ending The Tri-Pack War

Marco stood looking out over the devastation. He had been reckless and allowed his inner nature control him. But what could he do when he saw his Alisa killed then desecrated by that fool Blaze. Marco felt unexplainable joy when he thought about how he pulled Blaze's heart from his chest.

The look on Blaze's face as he died and understood that his mate would soon follow him. All Marco regretted now was that Amber and Adonis had been fighting the Dark Howl Pack on the far side of the lines. He would have loved to kill the entire family line in one day.

His Alisa was that precious. But he had underestimated Amber. When she found out what had happened to her parents she led her Star Fire Pack on an attack against his Silk Moon Pack the likes he had never seen and never knew possible.

She came in the middle of the night, during a full moon, which was unheard of in Pack skirmishes. It was her, her Beta, her head Theta, and an Epsilon and they rolled through Marco's Silk Moon Pack as if it was a city of normal humans. Out of the nearly ten thousand within his Pack only a good three thousand had remained.

All that was left of his greatest city were foundations and smoldering debris. He had been fighting the Star Fire Pack in his second largest city, clearly a feint and when the messenger came to him it was already too late. Silk Moon pack never had a Psi so he could not have gotten a telepathic message either way.

Still he was furious. Amber WhiteClaw would die just as her parents had.

"Are you going to go into a rage again and fight blindly? We are werewolves big brother not those four legged beasts trying to survive in forests by mere instinct."

His sister's voice instantly calmed him but he could not let her know that.

"You are my Omicron Jess not my nursemaid."

"You're right. I am not. I am your sister, your Beta's mate, and the one person that can handle your rage. While Tar is not here I will stand in for him and serve our Alpha. But I will never be his nursemaid."

"Sometimes I feel you overstep Omicron."

"You might be right my dear Alpha but I do it out of love for you and my pack. What type of advisor would I be if I didn't properly advise you without fear?"

In this world of werewolves there were no two sides of a coin there was just intellect and transformation. A werewolf had to be able to control their inner passions and maintain their reason at all times. They could transform anytime they pleased and they were stronger during the full moon. Silver had no effect on them and instead it was one of their preferred metals.

Finally there were Alphas and alphas were both the male and female mated leaders of the Pack. There were the doctors which were Deltas, the Epsilon which were the enforcers or police, the Theta which were the military, the Psi which were the thinkers, philosophers, and psychologists, and the Omicrons and Omegas, the advisors and rogues respectively. Oh yes, the Luna was the first born female to the Alpha couple.

Marco had been the Alpha of the Silk Moon Pack for ten years, he was now thirty-five. He had ruled his Pack hard but he was just and his Pack was strong. This war was really between the Dark Howl Pack and the Star Fire Pack. The Silk Moon Pack was drawn in because Blaze WhiteClaw had decided to go through Silk Moon territory to get to Dark Howl.

Dark Howl believed the once neutral Silk Moon was now allies with Star Fire and before he knew it Marco's father was dead and his mother went to the frontlines in grief.

So Marco's reign only knew war and he reacted like a cub when his mate of three years was killed before his eyes. She had been a strong Alpha and he had cared deeply for her. Now she was gone and so was their largest city.

"Belin. Use your magics and make this place only hospitable for Silk Moon members. No one else will have our lands."

"Yes Alpha."

"And survivors?"

Belin, their Delta and therefore their doctor winced. They have been taken to Silverton Alpha."

He nodded then he thought for a moment. "Is Timms at Silverton?"

"He is. Along with Tar."

He sighed in relief. Tar was his Beta, his sister's mate, and Timms was his head Theta, or military. He felt Silverton was safe and he could not have been more wrong. As he had come to protect their main city the Dark Howl took advantage of the situation and laid siege on their second city.

He would soon have reason to hat Dark Howl Pack as well.

Amber looked at her parents stoically. Her and her brother had always been strong. He was their father's Beta and it had always been understood that she would one day be Alpha. But she had thought that day was far in the future. She could not believe the day had already come.

Her father had a painful grimace permanently etched on his face and her mother's eyes had been stolen all together. Rage boiled up inside her. She took deep measured breaths.

She had not agreed with some of her father's tactics in this war, hell she hadn't agreed with the war, but he was her father and she would not allow his death to go unanswered. It took all that was in her not to flip both coffins in rage.

For Amber her parents dying on a day other than their own choosing was sacrilege.

The Star Fire war room was located in the center of a black fortress surrounded on two sides by ocean. A vast city set behind it and a long treacherous mountain range sat behind that. In front of the fortress was a canal, dug to connect the two great bodies of water. A wide heavily guarded underground tunnel connected the fortress to the other side of the canal.

Amber sat at the head of the table fuming. Everyone could feel her killing intent and they knew she was working hard to keep her inner turmoil at bay. Everyone had seen Amber fight but they had never seen her like she was in the great city of Silversmith.

She led so fiercely it caused all of the werewolves under her command to strengthen, and this was not even counting the added effects of the full moon.

She cracked her neck twice as she casually moved her head left than right.

"We are going to end this war."

No one said anything. No one argued, no one looked up but they all nodded.

"We will send cease war declarations to both sides." She began breathing heavily again as she thought about ceasing the war with Silk Moon Pack. But she had to admit that her father had gone too far. He broke the neutrality pact that they all signed with Silk Moon. She agreed that it looked cowardly but he didn't laugh and rebuke it he agreed and signed it only to do as he pleased. This was not werewolf behavior this was domestic dog behavior.

But if anyone else ever said that she would kill them.

"It seems that Silk Moon Pack has been destroyed. There are less than ten of them alive."

Amber looked to one of the Omicron in surprise. Then her lip curled in disgust. The Dark Howl took advantage of her rage. The Silk Moon Pack had been a noble pack. What a shame.

Kristof and Margot Yellow-Iris sat on their thrones listening to reports. They were the Alphas of Dark Howl Pack and they did not have a single mark of war on them because they had not fought in a skirmish in over thirty years.

"Why did they choose that foul bitch Amber to be Alpha? We could have maybe dealt with Adonis, if not killed him, but that heartless bitch is insane and overpowered."

Margot looked to her mate. "Darling why do you keep calling her a bitch?"

"well she is a bitch isn't she." There was a smile in his eyes and Margot pursed her lips.

"Stop that."

Margot and Kristof ran their Pack like they were two aristocrats who had forgotten all about their lives before they gained power. They had both been powerful Alphas. Now they were just powerful thinkers and greedy hoarders running their pack like a corrupt fortune five hundred.

Kristof smirked as he watched two she-wolves in full transformation dancing purely for his pleasure.

"I did say we would take care of Marco Silversmith." his smile broadened in pride.

Margot pursed her lips as a broad shouldered male massaged her calf. "You did not even take care of his Beta properly. But I will concede with only five pack members left Silk Moon is no more."

Kristof frowned. "If only that last Delta could have died as well. Twenty werewolves died trying to take Silverton."

"And you would be mad if I said 'I told you so'."

"Don't play the blame game. We need to figure things out before that bih… before Star Fire Pack attacks while we are down."

"Calm down. Amber is not Blaze. She is more ruthless but in different ways. She will not attack. We only have Marco to worry about."

"If that is true we are free and clear."

Margot rolled her eyes but decided to let her mate be. She was tired of the discussion. She settled back in her chair, relaxed, savored the hands kneading the back of her calf, and she began thinking how they could rebuild and protect themselves.
