Chapter 9 - CHAPTER NINE York City

After Traveling for a few hours, they all reach York city. When the carriage stops, everyone comes out of the carriage and sees that there is a big wall and an entry gate. There are two lines here, one for carriage and the other for people.

'This is your destination and from here you'll have to go by yourself.' Column said.

York city is civilized between the big walls, which are about 100 meters high and it has four entry gates in the north, south, east and west. The gates are also very big. There are some guards at the entry gate wearing dark blue uniforms and cap. A sword hangs from their waist.

Kalp and the others go and stand in line. After a while, Kalp reaches the checkpoint. Two guards are checking the carriage line and two guards are checking the people's line. One guard is sitting on a chair and writing the address and collecting the entry fee.

Now it's Kalp's turn.

'Show your identity certificate.' The first guard said.

Kalp takes identity certificate out of his bag and gives it to the guard. The guard passes it on to another guard and he writes down Kalp's information in his register.

'What is the purpose of your visiting?' The first guard asked.

'I am going to the capital by lighting train.' Kalp said.

'Okay, next, show your identity certificate.' The first guard said to the next person. Kalp goes away with his identity certificate.

Kalp enters the York city and sees that there are crowded streets and the markets are on the street. Each building has at least two storeys and all the buildings look like gable roofs. All buildings are paintless. Small shops are set up on the street. There are carriages, horses and some wind bikes on the street. Kalp goes towards a guard.

'Excuse me, can you show me the way to the train station?' Kalp asked.

'This is west gate and the train station is on east gate. You have to go straight on this route. Where the commoner zone ends, from there you turn right and walk along the street bordering the noble area to the commoners area, then you will arrive at the east gate of the noble area. Then take a right turn from there and walk straight. Then you will reach the train station.' Guard said.

'Thank you so much.' Kalp says and leaves from there.

Kalp starts walking towards the east gate.

'Fruits, vegetables, demon meat, cloths, weapons,' All the shopkeepers are shouting the name of their good.

After a few moments, Kalp reaches the noble zone gate. The both noble and commoners zone is divided by a walkway which is connected to both zones. Through the gate, Kalp sees that noble zone is much clean, it is not very crowded, the buildings in noble zone are also at least two storeys, well-maintained and painted white and blue. The walls are white and gable roofs are blue.

'A lot of discrimination between commoner and noble zone.' Kalp thought.

Kalp starts walking on the sidewalk. An hour later, he reaches the east gate. On the street, crystal light starts glowing everywhere. On the right, he sees the York city lighting train station.

There is a small one-storey building with a gable roof painted white and yellow. On the ground floor of the building, there are two counters, one for commoners and the other for nobles. Kalp walks towards the counter, where he sees an old fat man sitting, wearing a white shirt and black trousers. Behind the counter, there is a platform. On the wall of counter and pillars are wanted-posters.

'Sir, what is train schedule for the capital?' Kalp asked.

'Here only one or two trains run every day, one leaves at 7 in the morning and the other leaves at 6 in the evening.' Clerk said.

'Okay, I want one ticket on the morning train to the capital.' Kalp said.

'In which class? Like chair class, or sleeper class?' Clark ask.

'What is difference in the price?' Kalp asked.

'10 sliver for chair class and 15 silver coins for sleeper class.' Clark said.

'Okay, book it in Chair class.' Kalp said.

'Okay, give me your identification certificate.' Clark said.

Kalp gives him his identification certificate.

After a few moments, Clerk gives him a ticket and his certificate, which is brown in color and on that ticket is written that,'Human kingdom lightning train, York city, name Kalp field, time 7 am, destination capital, coach 9, seat 18.'

'Thank you.' Kalp says and leaves from there.

Kalp goes to a nearby inn, named 'Eat and Live Inn'. It is a single floor building, with a downstairs and private living rooms on the first floor. There are lots of wooden chairs and tables where peoples are sitting and enjoying food and drink. There are two girls here who are serving food to everyone and one girl is sitting on the reception. They all are wearing black frocks and white aprons and the age of the girls are between fifteen and twenty years. Kalp goes to the reception.

'Excuse me; I need a room for a night?' Kalp asked.

'It will cost you 10 silver coins, sir' The receptionist said with a smile.

'Okay. I also want to have full meal of non-vegetarian food in my room.' Kalp said.

Kalp goes upstairs to his room. The room is very nice and clean. Kalp keeps his bag on table and lies down on the bed.

'I'm tired of killing just a few goblins. I have a long way to go to become strong.' Kalp thought.

Somebody knocks on the door. Kalp opens the door and sees a waitress standing there with a plate of food. Kalp takes that plate.

'Thank you,' Kalp said.

'You're welcome, sir.' The waitress said with a smile.

In the plate, there is meat, Chapati, salad and a water bottle.

He sleeps after having dinner.
